Very pleasantly surprised considering some adverse comments on previous reviews.

Our room was spacious, clean and perfect for our needs.

Contrary to some previous posts, our room was not noisy and we were not adversely affected by other guests. In addition, our television did work and the guest room downstairs was well furnished and comfortable. The only adverse comment I would make is that it was not clear from the website whether or not breakfast was included in the price. Certainly for this establishment it is not included. You either have to make your own or go to the sister Bed-and-breakfast which is a few doors along. Basically you are left to your own devices but there is nothing wrong with that. I also met some very friendly guests.

Amber Hill

We booked with Rise but ended up staying at Amber Hill, a few doors up the road.

The customer service was excellent, texting us details and directions to accommodate our late arrival, and being available to help as we needed. The place was spotlessly clean and pleasantly decorated in a modern but homely style. We would stay again, and would recommend it.

The Rise Guesthouse

Being in room 1, one the ground floor and next to the front door meant that we were disturbed throughout the night by other guests coming and going, allowing the door the slam!!

Great Value for money

Stayed here for one night on a visit to Galway - although a little bit far from the centre, it was perfect for us as was close to my aunt's house whom we were visiting for dinner.

Our booking couldn't be retrieved on arrival, but that wasn't a problem and we were given a nice double on the second floor. Didn't have breakfast but availed of the coffee machine, which was a nice touch and also availed of the guesthouse's convenient proximity to the sea to go for a morning dip, which was lovely. Really good value for money, would stay here again.
