An eccentric big old building on the A19 with an excellent chef.
Two of us stayed here on business as the location was extremely handy, being right off a slip road on the A19.
The staff were excellent and polite, the girl in the restaurant knew exactly what the specials were and could answer any questions without going to check. The food in the restaurant was top class; the chef having obviously put plenty of thought into the menu. On first appearances the menu seemed a bit pricey but we opted for the two or three course set price menu which was very reasonable and still of fantastic quality.
The room price is a bit on the steep side but the quality is very good. This would be the only downside I experienced (but then again I wasn't paying!).
I think we'd stay here again on business based on the location (specific to the job we were on) and how brilliant the food was.
