Good value,great location
A clean, comfortable room overlooking the promenade in Aberystwyth with great views across to the pier and Cardigan Bay.
The bathroom was a bit too small for comfort, although this could be improved by re-positioning of suite. The bed was very comfortable, but the pillows were flat and past their best. The breakfast was more than adequate and the staff were very helpful and anxious to please.
Bedroom was great.
The view of the sea and promenade was fantastic. The breakfast was tasty and freshly cooked. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The shower was good, hot water and lots of pressure. But the problem with this hotel is space. The bedroom was big enough but the bathroom was tiny - a galley bathroom, the width of the shower cubicle. Maybe a sliding door would be better. The decoration in the room was good but some of the furniture was shabby particularly the chairs. Finally, a suggestion: there were some lovely pictures on the wall of flowers etc. But, it would be really cool to have photos of Aberystwyth and Ceredigion.
Friendly staff, we had a seaview room and it was lovely to watch the sea while having coffee.
Room had everything you needed. Bathroom is small but adequate for what you need. Breakfast was disappointing.
We were pleased to be able to have a room overlooking the sea .
However, the room was initially cold, and the manager had to turn on the boiler. One of the cushions was dirty and one of the lampshades was ripped. There was a small bar but no beer. There was no-one on duty after 9pm.The window had to be opened fully or not at all. The en-suite was very small. But, we were still happy until the water supply failed. We were then unable to wash , use the toilet or fill the kettle. We were told by the kitchen staff who were preparing the breakfast next morning that management would be informed, but that no management would arrive until 10am. I am now hoping for some compensation/refund.
Very average for a four star hotel but sea view made the stay worthwhile
Room looked nice with fresh sheets on the bed and the sea view was what made the room good.
However, the toilet/shower room was very cramped. The hotel was not up to what I would consider four star standard. Breakfast choices were poor and limited. The sink had a crack in it and the coffee was not replenished on the second day so we ran out. The paint had flaked on the window sills and had collected in the corners and was evidence that the cleaning was limited. Phone did not work and we had to ask for the central heating to be put on to dry off after a rain shower - we were told that the heating did not come on until later but they would switch it on for us.
We paid £115.00p for a very small room at the top of house, with no view whatsoever.
The bathroom was large, but had a noisy combo water heater was used for all hot water throughout of house and was on and off all night. The breakfast room was very cramped, as were the tables . Would not recommend to anyone. Was even told if we booked direct with hotel could have been cheaper........
Very Nice stay
We had a sea view room it was lovely, the room was very clean with a big comfy bed, the ensuite’s are on the small side but perfectly functional and clean.
Our only criticism would be the breakfast. Although all cooked fresh the fried eggs were hard and the sausage dreadful and bland, for the sake of finding a good local butchers to supply them it was a shame. parking is an issue the local wardens are very keen so take care when parking outside the hotel, I think this affects all the hotels without parking in town. However we had a very nice stay and would return again.
A friendly, clean hotel
This is the second time I have visited Ty Belgrave and both times my stay has been very pleasant.
The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was great. The staff were really accommodating. The only downside to the double rooms was that the bathrooms are very small.
Friendly people , food good room ok but the ensuite miles to small.
We only had to stay one night to pick up our grandson from Aber Uni.
