Clean room, good location
Disappointed we were not informed the painters/decorators were on site before we got there, just as well we do not have any allergies to paint fumes, we managed to manoeuvre around the place without getting paint on our clothes.
Food was nice. Staff friendly and welcoming. Room was clean, comfortable, however small. The bathroom was very inadequate, just as well as are are slim people, anyone any bigger than us would not be able to use this bathroom, thankfully, we managed due to a two night stay only. Toilet brush was scattered with poo - not nice/acceptable
Good value,great location
A clean, comfortable room overlooking the promenade in Aberystwyth with great views across to the pier and Cardigan Bay.
The bathroom was a bit too small for comfort, although this could be improved by re-positioning of suite. The bed was very comfortable, but the pillows were flat and past their best. The breakfast was more than adequate and the staff were very helpful and anxious to please.
Bedroom was great.
The view of the sea and promenade was fantastic. The breakfast was tasty and freshly cooked. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The shower was good, hot water and lots of pressure. But the problem with this hotel is space. The bedroom was big enough but the bathroom was tiny - a galley bathroom, the width of the shower cubicle. Maybe a sliding door would be better. The decoration in the room was good but some of the furniture was shabby particularly the chairs. Finally, a suggestion: there were some lovely pictures on the wall of flowers etc. But, it would be really cool to have photos of Aberystwyth and Ceredigion.
Friendly staff, we had a seaview room and it was lovely to watch the sea while having coffee.
Room had everything you needed. Bathroom is small but adequate for what you need. Breakfast was disappointing.
We were pleased to be able to have a room overlooking the sea .
However, the room was initially cold, and the manager had to turn on the boiler. One of the cushions was dirty and one of the lampshades was ripped. There was a small bar but no beer. There was no-one on duty after 9pm.The window had to be opened fully or not at all. The en-suite was very small. But, we were still happy until the water supply failed. We were then unable to wash , use the toilet or fill the kettle. We were told by the kitchen staff who were preparing the breakfast next morning that management would be informed, but that no management would arrive until 10am. I am now hoping for some compensation/refund.
Very average for a four star hotel but sea view made the stay worthwhile
Room looked nice with fresh sheets on the bed and the sea view was what made the room good.
However, the toilet/shower room was very cramped. The hotel was not up to what I would consider four star standard. Breakfast choices were poor and limited. The sink had a crack in it and the coffee was not replenished on the second day so we ran out. The paint had flaked on the window sills and had collected in the corners and was evidence that the cleaning was limited. Phone did not work and we had to ask for the central heating to be put on to dry off after a rain shower - we were told that the heating did not come on until later but they would switch it on for us.
We paid £115.00p for a very small room at the top of house, with no view whatsoever.
The bathroom was large, but had a noisy combo water heater was used for all hot water throughout of house and was on and off all night. The breakfast room was very cramped, as were the tables . Would not recommend to anyone. Was even told if we booked direct with hotel could have been cheaper........
