Clapham Guest House
First visit to London.
budget room value for money clean quiet and private
Apart from the shock of no reception and having to walk a half hour round trip to get the keys.
if booking had said from outset no keys on site would have been better. apart from that frankly ridiculous oversight not bad all round. Never had a bathroom outside the room since I have been a student but all in all not bad.
Clapham Guest House
Room was nice and clean.
Staff were very helpful and friendly and ordered us a taxi from our room.
Only downside was it we extremely noisy and there was no window I'm our room (but was in the bathroom)
You get what you pay for.
I just wanted somewhere simple and clean to stay overnight so I could go to Wimbledon early in the morning - and that's what I got.
Room was very basic but had everything I needed and seemed reasonable for the price compared with 3x the price for a room in central London (paid for by work expenses) the previous night: a clean and comfy enough bed, a bedside lamp, somewhere to hang things up, and a socket to recharge my phone. This guest house is on a busy road, and at a noisy crossroads where buses seemed to be chugging past most of the night... but they did provide earplugs and despite being a light sleeper I managed to sleep ok on the 2nd floor with the sash window open as it was a very hot night and there's no aircon.
Clean, comfortable bed, a bit noisy in front rooms, bring ear plugs!
Very clean and comfortable.
Nice staff but a tired and noisy guest house in need of some TLC
The guest house is only staffed until 9pm at night, however despite arriving after that time there was a member of staff to welcome me after a couple of telephone calls.
The room was fairly well equipped, but tired and shabby looking ie: grey bedding and frayed towels. It is also on a very busy main road into Wandsworth and there was traffic noise all night. In the room upstairs there was a family with small children and they were pacing the floor boards between the hours of 4am-5.30am which involved lots of banging creaking and children crying. Even ear plugs and a thin pillow wrapped around my head could not stop the noise. All in all not a positive stay, and very little sleep. I would not stay again, nor would I recommend anybody else stay there until it has had a face lift and they think about triple glazing. Big plus was the member of staff that greeted me, she was really nice and helpful. Other than that, I would advise you to stay elsewhere.
basic but clean
The room was basic but clean ,the bathrooms were spotless fresh towels and hand soaps.there was tea and coffee but no milk or whitener for a drink .
It specified off road parking there is room for 1 small car on the drive and there is a charge of £20.00 that wasnt made aware to us until we arived
Excellent stay friendly and helpful staff will stay again.
