Reviews - The Golden Lion Hotel

3Self Classified Hotel Ratings explained
THE GREEN , HUNSTANTON, PE36 6BQ
Built in 1846, The Golden Lion Hotel is the oldest building in Hunstanton and, whilst it has been added to and recently modernised, it still holds on to its old world charm.with panoramic views of the sea and enticing sandy beach; The views across the Wash are stunning and a real feature for us, and sunsets are often a sight to behold.
Recent refurbishment has given us a beautiful restaurant, updated function room and some lovely bedrooms.

The room was directly above the kitchen and the smell of the kitchen was present when the kitchen was active - the room itself was functional and clean ... it was disappointing considering the price of the room... the staff were attentive, friendly and very good in all cases.

Friendly Staff, Good Value Accommodation
Impressed with the hotel as a whole, staff were very nice. Especially the frontdesk staff, we we're greated by a lovely lady who obviously loves her job, which is a nice change.
Room was clean, warm. Would recommend.

Excellent welcome
Arrived after a long, tiring, drive, but an excellent welcome and good food soon had me refreshed. Bracing walk on the sea-front really revived me - lovely location.

SEASIDE BREAK
Late Rooms were excellant and as this was literaly a 'last minute' break it was excellant cost and position. Know area well and could not get a better location - sea view a bonus. Hotel appears to have been recently redecorated and was clean and tidy. Breakfasts adequate (tea left a bit to be desired unless you like dish water). Help self to juice and cerels etc. Good choice of menu breakfasts. Bar and sitting area pleasent. Parking in front of hotel out of season but in season hotel has private parking at rear for a charge - brill as Hunstanton is a nightmare for parking at weekends and hol times. Would recomend for short break.

Good hotel in great location
A very welcoming member of staff checked us in very efficently. We had a nice warm room with seaviews, bed was comfy, and there was plenty of hot water. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. All the right ingredients for a plesant stay.!The only slight problem we had was that we had no phone signal inside the hotel. Would stay there again if we returned to the area.
