Restrictive Internet, but nice rooms
The hotel room, view and facilities all surpassed my expectations. The location of the hotel and guest services were all fantastic. Staff were always helpful and friendly.
The only negative thing I have to say is the hotel's internet policies. The firewall was extreme and blocked the usage of common websites, email, software and video games. When a hotel claims free wifi as one of the benefits (which can be a big draw), it should live up to those claims.

Hotel Siru Brussels
On arrival I had to pay. The money had not been taken from my account as i thought it was when I booked online. I also had to pay an additional tax per night which amounted to aprox 15 euros.
Breakfast was not included. It is a cold buffet not in my opinion worth it at 15 euro's. A better option is EKKi a health food restaurant (various locations) in town, and particularly across the road from the European Parliament. The hotel is well situated.

Good value for money, and clean
This hotel was definitely good value for the money. It was clean and the staff were very lovely. Its located 2 minutes walk from a great outdoor shopping street with amazing shops and is so close to the downtown. The front of the hotel is in a good area but behind the hotel is a very sketchy neighbourhood. All of Brussels seems to be like this transitioning from posh to ghetto is seconds. The hotel is attached to 2 other hotels through their lobby so you have access to a 3 star and 4 star hotel bar and restaurant. (One billiard room in the 3 star has free massage chairs...best thing ever!) Be careful when getting of the train at Gare du nord in the night, it may only be 5 minutes from the hotel but the neighbourhood is dangerous and I wouldn't advice walking alone at night. The room was small but for the price it was good. Nice big shower and mini fridge in the closet. Only problem was our double bed was two twins pushed together, which was quite annoying considering we were there for a romantic night. Not very romantic when you are sleeping in the crack. I asked to change rooms to one with a proper bed but the hotel was full. House keeping was great. Its a bit loud outside the hotel (we were on the 5th floor) but thats just pub folk usually and pretty easy to fall asleep to after a bit. All and all its a good hotel for the money you pay.
