It is not a hotel. It is called a guest house.
Room accommodation and Traditional breakfast Very good but must specify before hand whether or not en suite room to be with a bath or a shower. Booking required for evening meal at least the day before. This was not tried as I suspect I would be the only one. I preferred to go out to a local, very good, Italian Restaurant nearby which was pleasantly busy with good food, value and service..

Poor
The room was not the cleanest, dust around the edge of carpets. My partner washed her make up off and it stained a towel, so after we showered we placed towels in bath and thought they would be changed, these were hung up in the room to dry by staff. Even though we stayed 2 nights. Breakfast was average even though this guest house has a supposedly good restaurant which was not open eve though we stayed a Thursday and Friday night.

ManagementResponse

We are really sorry you didn't not find our standing of cleanness to the top and I will personally check for this overlook. We do change out towel every 2 days or when needed if a corner of the towel was stained this could well be easy missed if the towel was use as a make-up remover the towel would have been change regardless if this was a misuse. Our breakfast as a good choice on offer and we have a Breakfast award to support this, if you prefer to have only coffee and toast this is a personal choice. The Restaurant is open by booking only and as you were visiting relative no reservation was made, people were actually dining on Friday. I do hope you will revisiting us in the future and would like to offer you a free upgrade.

Expected a little more
A 4 star hotel, maybe one day but it was a long time ago. Advert says car park at back but it was t secure (just park on street) however hotel did have their own car park space that was not offered. Did not see any iPod docking station in room and free wifi needed to be signed up for. Room was very cold also. Only stayed a night so didn't want to kick up any fuss. The bar was very expensive.
Food ok hospitality ok - I would say slightly over priced

ManagementResponse

I’m sorry you had to put a review like this, as we have been 4 start guest house for last past 10 years and we are still inspected by the Tourist board every year. You did park your car in the back of the hotel and we do not advertise this is a private car park. The Ipod docking is on top of the alarm clock as show on our website in fact you did have the room show on this picture. Wifi is free but of course you need to sign in to get access as most of free wifi spot in our days (legislation). You had one bottle stella artois cidre and one pint of lager total price £6.10 I do not call those price expensive or very expensive. As you did not eat in our restaurant I suppose the food ok was regarding your breakfast witch we also have an Award for. Our room price are very competitive and well serve. I do hope you will return and give us another chance to put right whatever was wrong on your last visit.

The hotel was clean and in an ideal position for the town and marina
The lady of the house was very nice and friendly
The husband didn't seem very happy but our stay was pleasant

ManagementResponse

I am glad to have called you about your review as we take great care about our customer review and always follow up. You explained to me that was a misunderstanding and probably was due to the way I spoke. I am also glad you reinforced that you will not hesitate to book with us on your next family visit. Looking forward to seeing you again.

we only stayed 1 night but found it to be friendly and welcoming, the only down side of our stay was with it been so warm at night we could not open a window as our room was at the front of the building and there is a busy main road running in front of the hotel.
