business trip

Generally fine but with two issues, mildew in the shower cubicle and a very poor cooked breakfast which to my surprise was extra.

microwaved bacon and under cooked sausage.

nice relaxing break

staff were excellent from arrival till departure, location for us was great, room was massive with the best view in the hotel , a couple of cobwebs on the ceiling, but you would need a ladder and a very long hose on the hoover to reach them and they were a minor detail , room was lovely and warm and the trains did not cause any disturbance despite being so close to the railway bridge , you are 10 minutes from edinburgh without the hassle of parking in edinburgh, plenty parking behind the hotel , and the staff make your stay very enjoyable

Excellent accommodation terrific view

We loved this hotel 2 little minor points 1 - we waited 10 minutes to check in as the bar was busy another guest advised the barman that we were waiting to check in he acknowledged us but then went to serve a busy bar then eventually another member off staff came.

2nd - trivial but grouting needs to be replaced on tiles at bottom of shower. Would recommend to others to stay.

Mid Week Break

Excellent hotel, staff great, especially girls, particularly Lee and Dorrita, in the restaurant.

Food excellent, well worth upgrading to full scottish breakfast, quality of food first class and portions enough to keep you going all day. Evening meals just as good. When booking we where bothered about noise from railway bridge, but after a couple of trains never noticed them. One of the best little hotels we have stayed in in the Edinburgh area, will definitely be back.

Break away

after a late check in due to an accident , No discount was offered .

The room was very clean but the windows was very loose and noisey every time a train travelled above the windows began to shake . Draughty windows .

Room was very cold
