A reasonable stay
The room was clean enough and the bed comfy, but unless you are first up in the morning, don't expect a gentle rise and shine at a time of your choosing.
Thumping feet (possibly boisterous children), doors constantly slamming, wheeled cases over cobbles, caterers, deliveries.... And although the website states all rooms with bath and shower, ours only had a shower. It was a very small shower with a large mixer valve that took up valuable space. I'm a small person and I banged elbows and caught the hot pipe whilst washing my hair, TOH at 6'1 and of substantial build didn't stand a chance, poor chap. Water pressure was poor also which is always disappointing as it's easily remedied. No real complaints tho, it was what it was.
Nice friendly staff etc.
Slightly tarnished by being served wrong meal on 2nd night. My fault to some extent because I didn't bring it to attention-bar was busy and I was hungry!Didn'appreciate yapping dog sat up to adjoining table with its 2 owners.
The Dog and Bear Lenham .
I have stayed here twice.
Room, food and staff excellent. Early breakfast available and freshly cooked. Easy and free car park on site. Wifi every where. Excellent value. Bar and restaurant menu the same, but good food at sensible prices. Good Ales and a great feeling in the Bar, plenty of locals in a lovely village.
Couldn't ask for more with the room and a great country pub.
Very happy with my stay and will be coming back!
Decent hotel, bar and restaurant
Nice one night stay, friendly staff.
Some left-behind jewellery was found and immediately sent by post
Very accommodating friendly staff
From even before we arrived communications were friendly and prompt.
We were met when we arrived after a solid seven hour car journey, with food and beverages, friendly conversation, and a cosy comfy bed. All just what we needed and hoped for.
Breakfasts and dinner were served again with a friendly manner. Watchful for our every need. Good tasty food and lots of options. Good beers kept well. Lovely wee village. Can't recommend this pub with lovely staff, good grub and comfy rooms enough. Well done The Dog and Bear!
Very nice village accommodation
I stayed here overnight during a business trip and was very impressed with the accommodation at a reasonable price.
My room was comfortable, clean and warm (it was cold outside) and there was ample reasonably secure private parking at no extra cost. Will certainly stay here again if in the area.
Dog and Bear
Friendly, comfortable, and good quality in the garden of England.
We stayed over the Christmas period and we could not have been happier with our experience.
Dog & Bear Lenham
Very nice big refurbished rooms.
Huge comfy bed. Lovely new bathroom. Great little country pub. Enjoyed my stay.
Great value for money
Check in was fast and efficient and I was shown to my room which was in a separate building across a courtyard.
The room was small (but it was a single room) with a 3/4 size bed and en suite bathroom with shower. The room was clean, warm, comfortable and cosy. I had a great night's sleep. Breakfast was good, although a little more choice on the buffet table would have been welcome. Having said that, they cooked porridge to order and it was hot and delicious. All in all, this accommodation represented excellent value for money and as a lone female business traveller I felt safe and comfortable. One possible improvement could be the fitting of a safety chain to the bedroom doors just for added reassurance.
