Our stay at The Conningbrook Hotel
As a family group of grandma, daughter and grandson we were given a large and very well appointed family room.
The reception, bar and restaurant staff were friendly and most welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. A most enjoyable stay.
Brilliant start to our holiday
Booked as an overnight stop before using the Eurostar.
Got a good deal on room. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent food (we had lunch, dinner and breakfast in the restaurant). Would recommend this hotel and would use again. An excellent start to our holiday.
Loved the place
overnight stay before going on Le Shuttle the next day, very friendly staff, very nice food and a lovely room.
only criticism would be that the soundproofing between our room and the one above was not very good. But we would definitely stay there again.
Nice setting, nice pub and good food, Clean room and the staff were friendly and helpful.
On the down side the room we stayed in was so hot. However we asked for a fan and the staff brought one upto us straight away.
Would stay again but would prefer a room that was not like a Greenhouse!
Creaky floorboards lol.
The only negative is the shower after a quick 10 second burst all you got was a dribble coming out. Food for thought would be a fan to cool the room.
My Stay in Ashford
On arrival, the parking was good.
Entrance to hotel reception clearly marked and easily accessible I walk with a stick. The welcome was prompt, polite and warm. Check in was quick and easy despite my room being upstairs assistance was instantly offered with my luggage. The room was clean, comfortable and well situated in respect of quietness. All items in room worked well. There was a kettle and good supply of drinks and complimentary biscuits available. The beds were comfortable with nice clean linen and towels. The En-suite bathroom had both bath and shower available in full working order and was clean with good supply of toiletries soap, shower gel etc. The breakfast menu was excellent, food well presented and cooked. I did not have any other meals but was made aware of their availability on check in and drinks from the bar were good value and available to take to your room. During my stay all staff were helpful, attentive and quick to respond to any requests or questions. A friend who joined me for breakfast was also made welcome and my own needs relating to health issues were shown consideration of the highest degree by staff when I felt unwell for which I am most grateful. Overall my stay was extremely pleasant and hassle free and I would happily recommend a stay at this hotel to others.
Good value, good service but a couple of annoying little things...
All in all good accommodation at a good price.
Included breakfast was rather good. Although son was disappointed with the lack of croissants, pastries, muffins etc from buffet (yes he's a but of a premier inn fan), but I was perfectly happy with the cereal\yoghurt\dried fruit and the better than average hot food selection, which even came with perfect poached eggs. Reception service was very good and restaurant service very good on Friday not quite so prompt on Saturday but still acceptable if a little slower. Couple of little niggles which let down an otherwise excellent quality stay:
1. The bath surround was made of laminated mdf, which had worn and blown ( of course bad choice for high use bath surround), and subsequently been repaired in places with liberal application of ugly and potentially unhygienic, duct tape. 2. Skylight in bathroom was surrounded by black mould. 3. Toilet seat would not stay up.
4. Family room but only supplied with 2 cups not 3, rectified but then supplies not restocked for 3 the next day either. 3 beds=3 cups and 3 hot chocolates... 5. Not hotels fault as such but my word people are ignorant when they get up at 3.30 am for an early channel crossing and start running up and down the corridor shouting and banging on doors to make sure their travel companions are awake. We always whisper in corridors at 8am. We will probably go back as there appears to be some nice walks directly from the door with access to major footpaths.
Really nice hotel.
I chose this hotel over a travel inn or travel lodge because I preferred the look of it.
disappointed. Friendly staff at reception and in the restaurant. Food was nice and reasonably
priced. The room was very clean and I was surprised by how big it was. A nice size bathroom
too. A very enjoyable 2 night stay indeed. Myself and the three people I was with would all return.
I would recommend.
