For what I paid the room was more than adequate.
More bedsit rooms than a hotel.
I'm a travelling engineer, late rooms helps me out a lot getting a place to stay wherever I end up in the country at good prices, but this place, well...
Hard to find, it was dark and the building was not lit up at all, drove past it 3 times before spotting the sign behind the railings, in the bushes. Parking round the back. After parking up in the small car park , I thought good. That soon filled up with contractors batterd vans so close I feared the safety of my vehicle . Then found out they do not do breakfast. For the money-that was very disappointing . Although there was some nice places in walking distance for eating and drinking. The room was just ok. So glad I got the room with the ensuite.
The walls were paper thin, could here the polish fella next door talking with his friends (very loudly) till late, then could still here him talking with his family on the phone (I could hear his wife n kids on the phone, may as well have been in the same room) then there was the other younger workers running around being idiots, could hear everything. Definatly not a place to bring a family.
This place was basically a proper dive.
In my mothers room the toilet leaked and the carpet was wet though.
Also there was a blood stain on one of the pillowcases.
The room served the purpose.
Adequate but no more.
Good place to stay
Near the centre and the ferry, good value place to stay.
Friendly staff, comfortable bed, warm shower, WIFI included.
All in all this was a really good one night stay and would certainly return if I needed a budget room in Gosport again. One small point - please put a plug in the basin!!
You get what you pay for
The guest house was a nice place, quiet but in a decent location.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. There are signs all around saying that they are renovating. The room was quite plain and bare, but spacious (for a small double) and comfortable. The bed was lovely but the pillowcases weren't very clean. You get what you pay for and this place wasn't bad.i would stay there again.
The worst I've stayed in so far
It's cheap and that's where the good points finish.
The "double bed" was made of 2 singles beds put together. The worst part was when somebody was cooking (what smelt like garlic) at 12pm at night and my girlfriend and I just couldn't sleep due to the dry throat we were getting from all the cooking!!. Went downstairs to speak to someone and there weren't anybody there. Worst experience ever
Great value for money - we only stayed one night, but were very comfortable.
The room was not luxurious, but then we didn't expect it to be for £35. It was however, spacious, very clean, and well equipped.
