All staff were so helpful, the reception staff were so helpful, the room was so good, comfortable, clean and excellent value for money.
Room decor & bathroom a bit dated compared to other Doubletrees such as those ex-City Inn/Mint ones but was well-equipped and had everything I needed.
Service not great at checkout- I could have done with some help getting out the door with my bag since was injured at the time and one of the disabled doors didn't open properly but none was offered- . However there was a girl managing the breakfast continental buffet during my stay who was very considerate & helpful and housekeeping staff were also helpful. Was in a handy location.
Overall was fine.
Glad I never had one of the internal rooms though since it looked as though they only had a window into an internal courtyard, not outside ( I may be wrong but would check when booking if you would want to be sure of an outside-facing room).
Will Not Return
Booked this room at what seemed a good price.
Travelled from Glasgow to Aberdeen for an overnight stay prior to an event in Aboyne on Saturday. Following a three hour journey up to the hotel arriving at 9.15pm, we checked in and dropped our luggage in our rooms. At this point, we read the in-room hotel booklet which advised us the hotel restaurant was open until 9.45. Despite this, upon arriving at the restaurant at 9.30 we were denied a meal as it was closed. We then had to travel in to the City Centre for dinner.
The room was internal with a window overlooking the bar area. Above this window was another that would have been at roof level. This did not close properly and was clearly the home to many seagulls of the area. I can appreciate that a seaside hotel will experience problems with this, however, I am certain that measures can be put in place to stop birds from landing there.
As a result, both myself and my partner had no sleep and an event to attend the following day.
I cannot believe that Hilton holds its name against such poor accommodation and service. I will not return.
Very nice stay.
staff are very friendly and kind and very helpful. would stay hear again. only downfall was there wasnt a swimming pool no more.
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Aberdeen City Centre
Swimming pool and spa was closed down.
Room was above the refuse at back of hotel with terrible view and was noisy.
Good value, parking, and descent room.
Excellent value for money on last minute deal
As always you get a warm welcome at theHilton, the front of house staff were excellent.
The room was on the first floor and the door partially blocked by a defective minibar which was still there in the morning. the room was warm and generally ok although the carpet could do with a good vacuum. I didnt sleep too well as the pillows were far too soft and I needed three to get comfortable. The bathroom was clean but there was a ciggy burn mark on the toilet seat and the seat hinges looked shabby and unclean, the bath towels looked used or tired and not the usual fresh fluffy appearance one usually gets. For the knock down price of £48, you cant beat it for value for money, but if I was paying top dollar I would expect more attention to room detail. I would recommend it and will definately stay again as they gave me free wifi... and a warm cookie!
Enjoyed our stay but I was disappointed that there was no free wifi in the room!.
Disappointed and overcharged without authorisation
I had not even been in my room for more than 3 hours when I was accused of smoking when it was actually a faulty Iron.
The Manager deducted £250 from my bank account without my authorisation which is totally unacceptable. He was extremely rude and disrespectful. Furthermore, the cost of the food is ridiculously over priced for what it actually represents. I will not go back to this hotel. I was also told that I cannot use the internet otherwise it would be a charge of £30.00!!
