Steve & Lyn Hampshire
The hotel is in urgent need of refurbishment.
However, if you can look beyond the ancient mismatched furniture and the peeling wallpaper the hotel provides excellent value for money and one of the most comfortable beds we've ever stayed in.
Cold restaurant and food
Very disappointed with the restaurant and food
The hotel is lovely, old and has seen better days BUT they were in the process of improving it while we were there.
Room lovely. Warm and clean. Food less exciting. But value for money
Very run down. Far too expensive for what it was
The fire alarm went off for 2 minutes in the early hours of the morning on both nights we stayed.
The staff did not seem bothered
Our 3 day break
We were not told at time of booking that the hotel was undergoing a refurbishment, there were workmen all over the place and the car park looked like a building site taking up valuable car parking spaces.
We were given a room on the top floor which for our age there were too many stairs, we were not offered a room on a lower floor. Our room was very comfortable and bright (not sure if it had been refurbished) if it had the finish was not of a high standard and needs to be looked at, especially the bathroom.
Norfolk Arms Hotel
Good value for money.
All staff really helpful & friendly
two nights stay
everything was fine would stay again, the only draw back was the carpark, no disable spaces for my husband, last night parking issue, but the receptionist sorted us out.
Please with my stay
Friendly and helpful
Lovely building but a little unloved inside
The building itself is lovely but the decor is definitely in need of some TLC.
I know the hotel is going under some refurbishment, but I was disappointed with the overall state of the decor in my room. There is obviously a big problem with damp as the wallpaper was coming off the walls in numerous places. The bathroom although clean did have a lot of mildew on the tiles and in corners, the shower curtain was also very stained. Overall I did think it is a little pricey for its current state of repair. On a positive note the staff were very polite and hospitable.
Norfolk Arms Hotel
Good value for an overnight stay in a pleasant location.
The room no.8 in dire need of just a bit of redecoration, the wallpaper hanging from the walls was a slight off put and the bathroom was a bit mouldy. However, that said it was warm lots of hot water soft towels and the breakfast was brilliant, as were the staff. We would certainly book again.
