I was going to email a complaint re our stay of one night on 16/4/2016.
We stayed in room 1 which was ok but there were stairs by the room leading to a store room(so we were told).
7:45 am on Sunday morning we were woken by someone going up the stairs, scraping a chair and slamming the door, followed by a loud phone call: someone arranging a rota. Three more times this occurred. Therefore we were unable to take advantage of the late check to "have a lie in" quote from your in room information. When I nicely mentioned this to the manager he denied that anyone had been up there and it was clearly his voice that I recognised. I also asked if the ant in the salt cellar and ants on the windowsill where we were sitting in the restaurant on the Sat night had been reported he curtly replied that it had. There was no apology therefore his attitude left a lot to be desired.
Clean, comfortable accommodation within easy reach of city centre.
Only complaint was one of signage - sign saying Innkeepers Lodge can only be seen once you have entered the property.
Quality stop over for chunnel
stayed just one night with the mrs for an early chunnel journey.
Everyone who dealt with us smiled... i like smiley people..smiley people make the world go round. The bar was well stocked and there was no problem sampling the real ales before buying a pint, we booked a table for dinner and the food was as good as any high end restaurant we have eaten in. The room was clean and the shower powerful enough to run a mills waterwheel!... A very very good place to stay...we will return for our next visit to revolutionary France
My stay at this hotel was several months ago was my first ever 'holiday' by myself.
Whilst I would contend that overall the quality was reasonably good, I found the attitude of the staff was a bit lacking on occasion. I was made to feel a little like a pariah/oddball for staying there all by myself, which didn't make me feel very welcome or comfortable. The proximity to the park and ride was a major factor in staying here, and it is also a fairly quiet hotel - far away from the possible noise of Canterbury city centre, which was why I chose it. I managed to last 5 nights without having Wi-Fi access, which was non-existent in this hotel, but I'm not sure other people would be so readily able to these days. I exhausted the places to visit in East Kent whilst staying in Canterbury, which is in a lovely spot. For that reason alone, I am unlikely to stay here again. In the main, I wouldn't however hesitate to recommend this hotel if anybody asked of my advice.
Excellent waiter, but interference from Chef led to very different customer experiences.
No cooked breakfast as no one turned up and completely disinterested waitress.
Inn to Dover.15-20minutes.
What more can I say.
We keep comming back.
Very pleasant overnight stay
Nice room, good night's sleep, good breakfast
Very pleasant overnight stay
Comfortable, quiet, clean with good food (dinner in particular was very good).
Would stay there again. Would serve as a good base for exploring Canterbury as it is close to a Park and Ride site (driving through Canterbury was a nightmare). Also well placed for exploring the local area away from Canterbury.
This is an excellent property, modern rooms, old style pub and restaurant below.
Transit, one night stop-over on our way to to the continent.
Typical small Inn, good for a one night stop-over. Shower was slightly mouldy so we deducted something for this. The staff were friendly though and did a decent Job. The food here was nice and the local beers and the wine were fine.
