100% would recommend it to a friend
When we arrived the initial impression was of a typical country pub but once inside we realised we were somewhere special.
The quality of the fixtures and fittings were second to none and our room was exceptional. We decided to have our rvening meal there and were glad we did as the food was of a very high standard ( I can personally recommend the artic char ). The staff were very pleasant, skilled and helpful and our stay was only improved by the lovely local people who made us feel at home. We will definetly return for another break.
A friendly place with helpful staff
We were greeted upon arrival and one of the staff offered to give us his parking space as there was very little space behind the hotel.
Our room was clean and we had fresh towels. Everything we needed for the one night. However, the radiator was on all night and we couldn't turn it off. I woke up at 2am with being too warm and needed 2 glasses of water and to open the window. I tried again to turn the radiator off but it didn't seem to work. Me and my boyfriend both woke up at 6am with headaches and sore throats due to the heat and stuffiness.
I'm sure if we had asked the staff they would have gladly turned the radiator off...we were just tired and it was quite late.
Very happy with my stay at your hotel
The staff was very kind, friendly, helpfull and I enjoyed my stay.
A cosy stay
Lovely little pub in a quiet village.
Our room was lovely and cosy on a cold wet night. We ate in the restaurant which was very popular. The food was tasty and service very good. Breakfast also very well cooked.
Lovely Wee Inn
We enjoyed our stay and could not fault the service we received.
The whole inn was sparkling clean and the food was very good if a tad overpriced. The room we has No5 was very small and we think overpriced but having said that it was very clean and comfortable.
Black Swan weekend away
Booked through LateRooms, quite a lot cheaper than booking direct.
Room not ready at 2pm, but because new bed and mattress being installed, very comfortable. Room 7 recently redecorated, spacious and view of sheep in fields. Staff excellent, friendly and helpful. Food excellent, not a massive choice, but is of a very good quality. Room 7 is close to kitchens, extractor comes on mid morning and goes off 9.30ish, makes a droning noise and is loud enough to disturb, but after that the room is peaceful and well away from public bar areas. Friends in Room 1 were disturbed by people in the bar below and droning from a fridge below all night. Breakfast very good, good choice and extra toast, tea, etc. on request. The Black Swan is ideally located near to Acorn Bank National Trust House and only 5 mins off the A66 to get to The Lakes, Penrith or the Howgills. Has fishing rights on the Eden which we didnt use. An ideal weekend or short break, with lots to do in the area, nice rooms and great food.
Fantastic place to stay, it has been beautifully decorated, breakfast was lovely and staff so helpful and polite.
Would definitely recommend staying here.
Great welcome, great location and highly recommended.
Went above and beyond!
We arrived at 11pm and were greated with a very warm welcome, couldn't have been more helpful or accommodating, we are looking forward to visiting again as the bar and restaurant looked fab!
