The hotel is on the 4th floor of a tenement block.
Although there is a lift, you still have to go up a few steps. The weekend rates were probably reasonable given that Milan hotels are expensive anyway. The weekday rates were an absolute rip-off. In this regard, I had a grotty room in a grotty hotel. There was a small balcony with an ancient and dirty folding chair. There was no separate shower room. The shower and wash-basin had no shelves. The bed was all right. There was a small table with two tatty chairs, one of which was mysteriously removed anyway. There was a small wardrobe with an interesting selection of shop coat-hangers. The floor was covered in tatty vinyl. The walls were a dull yellow. The curtains were a garish orange. The shared toilet was also a shower room. Best not be desperate if someone's having a shower. I forwent the €5 breakfast as I'd given them enough money anyway. The whole place was in urgent need of a complete refurbishment. I'll have done my job if I stop anyone else staying there.
Good, basic room.
Accommodation was basic but clean and warm.
Good location - 15 mins walk from metro station. Also near supermarket and a few cafés. Although website says check in at 12, when we arrived at 12 we were told that the room wouldn't a ready until 1 which was annoying. Otherwise no problems at all.
There are no positives about this hotel.
We arrived at the hotel late afternoon and had to climb 4 floors or stairs in the dark as no light switch was obvious. When we arrived at the hotel keys were shoved into our hands and that was that. No information was given about the hotel. When we entered the room I was devastated. The room was terrible. Broken tiles on the floor, thin mattress and pillows, broken curtain rail and mould on the bathroom wall. The major thing wrong with the room was that they still had old style plugs so we couldn't charge anything or use any of our electronics even though we had bought an eu adaptor this did not fit. After getting over the state of the room we went out for dinner and returned at a not too late time of 10pm. To our surprise the main door to the building was shut and locked. As the hotel had given us no information we had no idea this was going to happen and no idea of how to get in as the hotel is meant to be 24 hours. Finally we found a number on the wall but this had been disconnected. We then found a small buzzer button and this let us in. But it wasn't at all obvious. At night the walls are so thin that you can hear everything so sleep is hard to come by. Avoid this hotel at all costs if you want to have a pleasant stay. Milan is a beautiful city but this is not the place to stay.
