Reviews - Ashling House B&B

168 Upper Drumcondra Road Drumcondra, Dublin 9, IE
Ashling House was built in the 1930s and boasts a wonderful location in the leafy suburb of Drumcondra, within a short distance of Dublin city centre and Croke Park (the National Gaelic Football stadium). Our Drumcondra B&B offers guests full use of our recently Landscaped Private Garden to the rear of the house.

Our high standards of accommodation are on a par with that of a highly rated hotel or guest house. We are situated between the Skylon and Regency Hotels and are within easy reach of numerous good Dublin Pubs and Restaurants. We are also close to many of Dublin's College's such as St Patrick's College, The Marino Institute, D.C.U and All Hallows College.

The city centre is 15 minutes by bus and is served by buses 3, 11, 13a, 16, 16a, 33, 41 and 746, which run approximately every 5 minutes. Buses from Dublin Airport to Ashling House include the 41A, 41B, 41C, 16A and 746 and run approximately every 20 minutes. Dublin Ferry Terminal is approximately 3km by car or taxi.

Very friendly and convenient
Situation ideal for us. We wanted to get to and from airport easily and also get into city centre. Frequent direct buses from just outside. Room was smallish, but clean. Not sufficient surfaces for putting items on. A shelf above the sink would be useful for putting toothbrush and paste on. One of the towels was frayed and had a hole in it. No one available to replace it until morning. Main problem was with water ingress from shower. The door frame was rotted at the base with a large, gaping, damp hole where the wood had rotted away. Breakfast was fun. It is self service and boiled eggs were self cooked. Everyone seemed to appear at the same time so there was insufficient seating and it was a bit chaotic, but good quality food. Our host was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Great advice regarding bus routes. Very good Chinese meal at the Starry Kitchen, a short walk down the road. Good pint of Guinness at the Ivy House, almost next door to the restaurant.

Really helpful and friendly staff. My only issue was that the walls were quite thin, and I was woken
At 5am by people leaving. But room was great for the price and super clean. I would def stay here again.
