Great value B & B
Spotlessly clean, friendly staff, great free WiFi.
Free parking, surprisingly good amenities & close to local attractions. Great cooked breakfast in the morning. I've paid twice as much in the past & not been as impressed. Don't turn up expecting the style of the Paris Hilton & you might be pleasantly surprised.
Stayed here for 2 nights, comfy bed, clean sheets and towels, breakfast good, room could do with renovating.
Immaculate room immaculate everywhere
A warm welcome from the owner which was much appreciated after a long day.
Room was so clean which was lovely not a spec of dust anywhere to be seen. Old style TV and hard bed which could do with being a bit more comfortable. Our room was on the very busy main road side which kept me awake on and off throughout the night. I forgot my earplugs which would have helped enormously. My son slept through though. Could do with a black out blind I think and perhaps a bedside lamp. Bathroom was so clean I think I'd have been able to drink out of the toilet if I'd had to. Same with shower not a hair in sight or a spec of dust. Dining room very welcoming. We were up and out very early so couldn't take advantage of the cooked breakfast however there was still plenty: cereals, toast, croissants, pastries, breakfast biscuits, yoghurt, fruit, tea, coffee and juice and the heating was on!.
We found our stay at the Alara hotel to be very enjoyable.
The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was to die for. Definitely return!
Alara Bed & Breakfast
If you just want a bed for the night the Alara is the place everything is tired and a bit dodgy you get what you pay for.
ridiculously over priced
it felt more like a low end hostel but was £50 a night and miles away from anything so i felt ripped off.
if it was reasonably priced id think it was ok. no private shower or toilet, wifi didnt work, really steep stairs etc and costs £50!
Alara Bed & Breakfast
Outdated decor but clean and tidy
Although the décor was a little out-dated and the layout was unconventional (to get to my ground floor room I had to go up stairs and then back down with all my luggage) the place was clean and much cheaper than other B&B's in the area.
Good WiFi signal all over the hotel
If you have a problem with steep stairs [or vertigo] avoid.
I don't know what constitutes 3* but I think this must be borderline.
The people that run it are pleasant, and the room and bedding were clean. Very limited parking and as in the title, VERY STEEP stairs [we were in the top floor room]. It was adequate at best, small room though.
Very clean and excellent service. will definitely stay again ??
Really good service especially from a lady called Linda and will be staying again.
