OK for a night
Rooms and Hotel need upgrading, now showing its age
We stayed at the Holiday Inn as we were attending a Christmas party there.
I pity those guests who weren't at the party; they wouldn't have got much sleep until 1.30am. I wouldn't go to another party there - the food was mass produced and the "inclusive wine" was low quality. The room itself was comfortable although the bathroom needed updating. Although our booking included breakfast, we had not been included on the list. The receptionist sorted it out and gave us the choice between breakfast or a refund. She was very helpful.
Very nice, But NO PARKING!!!!!
nice place, but it could do with its own car park.
Return to the Inn
On my first visit I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the rooms, food and service having stayed in various Holiday Inns around the country where all of the above have been of variable quality.
All the staff are very friendly and will go the extra mile to ensure that your needs are met. Well worth the money.
We booked only two days in advance, but asked for one double room and one twin room (for my two grown up sons).
At the check in, and after a little deliberation, we were told that there were no twin rooms available. We had two doubles instead. Although disappointed, for one night we could put up with this inconvenience. Our rooms were also on different floors, also not ideal. Other than that, the rooms were very clean, the breakfast delicious, the staff very friendly, car parking right conveniently opposite the hotel entrance, and only a five minute walk into the town centre. So, on balance, a good choice. However, next time I would book more in advance to be sure of the right type of room.
