A bit disappointing
The single room I stayed in was disappointing compared to the photos I had seen on the website and other places I have stayed in Oxford. The room was small and felt squeezed into a cupboard space. The linens and decor were tired. The bedside lampshade was dirty and almost falling apart. The headboard on the bed was rickety, wobby, and damaged. The en-suite shower room was tiny. The trickle of water from the shower was so pathetic that it would have taken a very long time to take a shower, so I opted for a strip wash at the basin. The taps on the basin had to be turned through many revolutions before water appeared. The star-rating system is badly designed if this room is in a guesthouse worth 4 stars. Good features were as follows: helpful and pleasant staff, nice solid non-wobbly toilet seat, attractive old-fashioned working ceiling fan, small, quiet fridge with ice box, towels that didn't smell musty, nice breakfast.

definitely recommend
Very friendly and welcoming. The room was quiet and had a large bathroom. Very clean with comfortable beds. Breakfast was good. They were very helpful when I wanted to leave my car in their car park for a few hours after checking out. Great location for visiting Oxford city centre - regular bus service and runs late into the evening. Had a great time.

Nice breakfast, poor bed
As a B and B you expect two main good things, but unfortunately the bed was so uncomfortable I hardly slept. You could also hear the movements from other rooms, so I kept getting disturbed.
The breakfast however was lovely and the owners were very polite and helpful.

Dontcha luv em, British B&Bs
All the cliches, fake cotswold house, leaded windows, ghastly 70s decor. But actually efficient service, everything in the room worked OK, breakfast was fine if unimaginative. Does what is says on the tin!
