Absolutely superb!
Jolyons was great because it was cheap but when I arrived it was so beautiful. The furniture is all vintage/antiques and bought from auctions in Europe. The room was beautiful and so well presented. I even had complimentary duck biscuits! The staff were so friendly and helpful. They told me where to get buses from to see different tourist sites and even printed the information off for me. The staff working at the bar are also very friendly and it have me someone to talk to when on my own. I wouldn't even look anywhere else now if I was going back to Cardiff. I can't rate it high enough and I honestly can't fault it!! Just brilliant!

A great stay at Jolyons 10
Fantastic place to stay. Great value. Staff are first class. Really helpful and nothing too much trouble. Superb layout. Inviting, welcoming and a place to relax. Bar area and outside, ideal for a beer or a coffee. Rooms spotless. Decor modern and crisp. Location for all the sights spot on. Just far enough from the City centre to avoid the crowds, yet close enough to walk to all amenities including sports grounds.

Rooms
We booked a suite with Late Rooms which was described as being originally £350 per night with "The White Company" products, dressing gowns, self catering facilities, fridge but were provided with a double room and no explanation or apology as to the reason we were not provided with a suite as originally booked. This was very disappointing as I booked 2 rooms and both were supposed to be suites.

One Night in Cardiff
The only reason I marked the room down was that it was rather hot but then we were on the top floor and it had been a very hot day. The twin beds were very narrow but very comfortable. Don't forget to try and book your parking as it is restricted and costly in the Sophia Gardens Pay and Display. Otherwise great place and great staff.

Although I enjoyed my stay the food was overpriced for what I paid for and received.
I'm sorry to say I know it's a boutique hotel but the breakfast does not warrant a £10 per person as thus is a lot for what is received. The room was excellent, although very warm on arrival as windows closed but the fan helped to cool. The bathroom was fantastic with a step into bath and a huge rainforest shower head. The price of the meals available in the restaurant were also pricey fish and chips twice the price of alternative eateries nearby, what I did have was well cooked and tasty . Loose a little of the boutique prices for the food side and would be an excellent priced hotel which is very comfortable and clean, with friendly staff.

Very Good hotel, but Late Rooms were not so good.
We have stayed here before and find it comfortable, reasonably priced and convenient for the City Centre and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where our daughter was studying. However, on arrival, the hotel had no knowledge of our booking, despite us having received booking confirmation several weeks before, and an email to prove it. Apparently this is not the first time this has happened. After a few anxious moments we were reassured that the hotel did have space and in fact gave us a free upgrade to a suite which was very considerate and we had a good stay.
