This private family owned hotel offers all the modern facilities you would expect from a new hotel, whilst still retaining a distinctive friendly atmosphere. To compliment the hotel there is a world class shooting
ground which is the countries largest with over 450 fully automatic traps, catering for all abilities with a qualified instructor on hand to offer advice. The national motor sport licensed kart circuit has an 815 metre track offering visitors the opportunity to experience the speed, excitement and drama of the sport; both activities are ideally positioned adjacent to the hotel. In addition, the Weymouth & Portland sailing venue is only 20 miles away.

All rooms are en-suite, air conditioned and finished to a high standard, with soft pillows and comfy beds you are assured of a great nights sleep. The traditional seaside resort of Weymouth has something for the old and young, the fine Georgian seafront and fantastic golden sandy beach are firm favourites and the old harbour is a great place to watch the world go by. The bustling towns of Bournemouth and Poole are a little further afield, with their lovely sandy blue flag beaches and many other family attractions.

A good bolt hole.
Everything about the Hotel good. My only concern was the food pricing structure of the Kings Restaurant which I thought was a little high.

Too expensive.
We reserved a disabled room, but given a room on 1st floor served by a lift, what happens if there is a fire! You cannot use a lift how do disabled get down to the ground floor?. Also a standard bath with overhead shower, how do disabled people have a shower?,the hotel was extremely hot ,air con not ver efficient. We didn't have dinner, extremely expensive even the bar/lounge menu, breakfast was good

The hotel was very overpriced
Staff at reception and breakfast were not good. The breakfast itself was also poor.
On checkout they tried to charge me £28 for something that was not mine and when I advised them this was wrong, they initially argued.

Short stay mid-week
This hotel is convieniently situated between Dorchester and Yeovil, surrounded by beautiful countryside. It is a recently built, smart hotel. The staff were polite & friendly. The room was a good size, with a generous en-suite. It was clean and the air-con worked well. There was a small amount of road noise from the A-road during peak hours (the hotel is set back a way from the road anyway), but this was only noticable if one left the window open. If you fancy clay pigeon shooting or go-karting, these are available on-site. We only sampled the bar food (which was fine) so I cannot comment on the restaurant, except to say that it looked impressive.

Not as we expected
We found the room quite pleasant and modern, overall check of room on arrival, beds comfy and clean, toilet NOT clean needed a flush!! hairgrip on bathroom floor. breakfast was ok but not great choice for non 'hot breakfast' eaters. biggest problem was absence of wi-fi for entire stay, not much help from reception, first it was our problem getting on, then it was BTs fault, eventually we were told that a pub twenty minutes down the road had wi-fi and that was all that could be done for us!! would not have booked into any hotel that did not have reliable access to net, and will not again!
