Facilities
Very surprised not to find tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
A minimum requirement in all hotel rooms.
This is penny pinching to put it mildly.

The worst night's sleep ever!
Would have been more comfortable sleeping on the floor! It was clean, that is the only positive. But I would rather sleep in a scruffier room that had more space, more pillows and more comforts.. Never using etap or ibis again. May as well have slept in a box on the floor.

ideal for attending a conference at NEC or catching a plane
TV and basin light didn't work, but the room was clean and fresh looking with comfortable bed and convenient ensuite shower, loo and basin, small desk and stool, clothes rack. Good use was made of the space.
Breakfast was just what I needed, Cereal, fruit, toast, croissant and good quality coffee, self service and efficient and clean. Ideal for attending a conference. Arrangement to eat dinner next door at Ibis worked well. NCP car parking discount arrangement almost didn't work due to an NCP training deficit. Convenient for airport terminal ( less than 5 minutes walk), NCP car park, and took the less than 5 minute journey from there by rail air link to NEC and railway station.

Only go if you really just want a bed for the night
The room was small and didn't even have a chair. The smell of the shower and toilet drains spread across the whole room.
If you really need somewhere to stay near the NEC/B'ham Intnal, then it does the job, but it most certainly isn't value for money and definitely not a pleasant experience.

Early flight accommodation
This hotel was perfectly situated for a 6:00 flight from Birmingham Airport....just a few steps away! The rooms are quite small, but still a good value considering our short sleep.

Overnight stay
Good for one night stay for early morning flight. Quiet considering it is on the airport car park.

The trip starts at Etap
Checking in at 4.30 am for an early flight was made possible by spending the previous night at Etap. This hotel has the right functionality for a guest that simply wants to be near the airport at a reasonable expense.
The checking in staff was very friendly and efficient. The room was clean, quiet, had adequate hanging space, en-suite facilities, and the bed was comfortable. I made use of the free wi-fi.
With a continental-style breakfast (available from 4am), this trip had got off to a good start.
