Able to check in early.
Red Kite House
The hotel is in a quiet village with easy access to Reading.
The spacious bedroom was well furnished with an emphasis on high quality materials throughout. The en-suite shower room was equally well appointed-large enough and equipped for disabled use. Breakfast arrangements were simple-self service continental style or cooked breakfast to order. The full English breakfsasts were excellent. The on site managers were particularly efficient, whether producing breakfast or dealing with our queries. The hotel hsas no common lounge facilities so residents are limited to their rooms and dining room. We were very satisfied with our stay here.
Response from hotel
We are really glad you enjoyed your stay with us and left with a good breakfast inside you.
A lounge area has been under discussion for some time and I am pleased to advise that we are currently awaiting planning permission, which will allow us to extend the dining area and include a Lounge Area for the use of Guests and Visitors.
A restaurant is also included in the development Plans.
Look forward to seeing you again so that you can take advantage of the new facilities.
Red Kite House
Very pleasant room.
everything worked well. having a small fridge was a bonus.
This room was obviously just for budget bookings, very small and cramped, except for the bathroom,
Response from hotel
Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at the Red Kite House. We are sorry you felt your room was cramped. We offer larger rooms at very little extra expense, an extra £10 will get you one of our executive rooms which offer a lot more space and a king size bed. Alternatively if you really wish to push the boat out we have executive garden rooms which have patios and access to the garden, with super king beds and even more space. If space is important to you we suggest one of these rooms should you choose to visit us again. Please note these rooms are normally booked well in advance as they are very popular.
Red Kite House B&B
Comfortable and basic
Room was OK but strange lighting due to 'CFL' bulbs in chandelier, there was also a general 'curry' smell.
I was not competent enough to get the kettle to work. Bed was comfortable and bathroom clean but the shower was rather weak. Breakfast was good with the exception of the poor quality sausage.
Beautiful location and lovley hosts
We had a lovely nights sleep after having a few drink down the road at a friends.
The room was very clean and the bed was extreamly comfy and soft. Breakfast was serverd promptly and was nice.
Cant really fault it. Will be booking again for sure :)
We took pot luck as we were visiting local friends and it was delightful in every context.
Spotlessly clean, good breakfast but thought the breakfast time limit of 9.15 on a Sunday morning a bit early - another hour would have been nice but totally accepted that during the week, business people will be off to work.
Red Kites at Red Kite House
This lovely b&b looks like a posh hotel but is run on a friendly, informal basis.
Everything was perfect - and we saw the red kites from our window several times. Brilliant!
A little gem
When I arrived at Red Kite House I was greeted in a very friendly and warm manner.
I was shown to my room and found it to be absolutely lovely. The room was very comfortable and modern, which if I am again in the location I would definitely return. The breakfast was excellent and very tasty!!. All in all excellent accommodation, nice and polite people, a definite place to stop.
