Overnight at Thatched Cottage
My daughter and I had a twin room, which was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and the food was absolutely great.

Great food ok accommodation
The accommodation was ok and reasonable value for money. It was clean and there were tea and coffee making facilities. The bedroom was a bit heath robinson with bizzare shelving at the sides of the bed and the tv, which is on a bracket in the corner of the room, had to be moved when the bathroom door was opened. The bathroom was a bit tired.
We ate in the restaurant and we were very pleasantly suprised at the excellent quality of the food. I had salmon fillet on a bed of risotto with chorizo, broad beans and chilli oil and it was absolutely delicious. If we lived in the area this restaurant would be a regular. The breakfast was also good.
Overall, I would stay again if only for the restaurant.

Return visitor
This was our second visit and once again we were pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately it was a very hot night and we were on the road side of the hotel. With the windows closed it was too hot, with them open it was noisy. This was no fault of the hotel and probably for 350 days of the year there would not have been a problem!

Characterful inn
Very nice place - clean, welcoming. Bar service could have been more efficient. Shepton Mallet town itself does not have much to offer but located near enough to lovely city of Wells and other places worth visiting.

Great place to stay!
The Thatched Cottage was lovely. The food was scrummy and breakfast was huge! Our room was very nice but could perhaps do with a few little bits doing to it to make it even better (the shower had a constant drip and a little bit of decorating TLC in small areas is needed). The bed was very comfy. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Also very close to Center Parcs spa so easy to stay here after going to the spa. We would definitely go back again! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Friendly Hotel
Welcoming helpful staff, good food and comfortable room. Bar and restaurant very busy, and clearly popular with non-residents.

Faultless
We stayed here with friends for the weekend and have to say we could not fault anything. The staff.rooms and food were all excellent. The staff could not be more friendly or do enough for us. A big thank you to all for making our stay pleasurable. If you are planning a trip near Shepton Mallet you will not go wrong staying at the Thached Cottage Inn.
