Cosy & Caring in the Cotswolds
We had a lovely stay at the Falcon.
We didn't eat there in the evening but did have breakfast which was lovely. They are passionate about their food provenance and it showed. The hotel is quirky but there isn't a lot you could do about that e.g. there isn't any double glazing and it is right on the main road through the town so it is noisy. BUT if you want a quiet room go book a large chain one in the middle of nowhere. This hotel is about the customer service, the food, and the joys of walking in the stunning Cotswolds. If that is for what you are searching in a hotel then book here. Only suggestion to hotel would be that for the front rooms (one of which we had) they could maybe provide ear plugs for the light sleepers like I!
Coming home from Cornwall
The room was clean and comfortable.
Because the building is very old there are certain issues that need to be addressed - the window would not shut properly and it was very noisy all night from the passing traffic. Also downstairs in the dining room we could hear the cellar air-conditioning which was very loud overpowering the music that was on. We could also hear this in the bedroom during the night - we did not have a very restful night.
Lovely hotel in pretty location
Visit to Painswick
Painswick and the Falcon Inn is a very pleasant place to stay.
The real ale as well as the food was excellent. The only downside is the noisy main road, particularly early morning when people are going to work.
