Could be better.
Lovely quiet location but with no meals on site travel to Salcombe is required to get breakfast.
Very odd not a single person on site, we got a text message with instructions where to find a key and which room we were in. While initial impressions were its a beautiful house, closer inspection noticed things are getting a bit tired and in need of a good clean, mould in the shower and stains on the chairs in the bedroom as well as an obvious stain on the ceiling where there had been a leak. There was also a number of roof tiles astray. Could not open the bedroom window so glad it was not high summer!
This was my first visit and a most enjoyable stay.
Everything was perfect, the beautiful weather, the excellent accommodation and the magnificent weather. I would recommend the Old Vicarage as providing very flexible accommodation.
I could not stay at the Old Vicarage due to damage but was diverted to the nearby Lodge Hotel, owned by the same management.
The hotel operates on a help yourself basis - no staff. It works well and is rather relaxing. The management seem to be based in Manchester, however when I had a problem with the showerI rang a mobile number and a handyman arrived in my room ten minutes later. My only complaint was that the shower in my room was so temperamental that in the end I couldn't use it.
