Reviews - Guildhall Tavern

4Self Classified Hotel Ratings explained
Hall Square, , , Denbigh, LL16 3NU
An experience of the unusual awaits you at this beautifully restored historic hotel. With 16th Century origins and a tale or two to tell, the building is full of character with exposed beams, feature fireplaces and sense of quirkiness hard to find anywhere else. Guests can relax in comfort in one of the 11 individually designed, luxury rooms which each portray charm and a feeling of uniqueness. The restaurant offers some creative menus prepared with locally sourced, fresh produce complimented by a great range of wines and real ales. The bar area features open fires and cosy corners and offers a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for guest to enjoy. The hotel lobby is a bright new addition to the building and an ideal place to enjoy an indulgent afternoon tea or to get lost in a good book. The Guildhall Tavern is tucked away just off the town centre in the medieval market town of Denbigh with breathtaking views over the Vale of Clwyd. The Clwydian Range is a designated Area of Outstanding Beauty (AONB) and is just a short drive. Denbigh is a perfect base for exploring all that picturesque Denbighshire has to offer. Amazing place to stay if you like the unique
The room was wonderful, with beams, sloping roof and also a sloping floor. We had to walk slightly uphill to the bathroom. Was a little disappointed to only have a shower and not a bath, but the water was hot and the shower powerful enough.
The staff were very helpful and the food was really good. It is a popular bar for locals to use, which was nice in the evening to not sit in a quiet restaurant.
I would definitely recommend it, and will probably stay there again.

A very Good Place to Stay
Was surprised at the quality of this quiet Hotel tucked away in the middle of Denbigh. Upgraded to a suite so a very good start, room was spacious, Food was fantastic, staff were very attentive, but not imposing. Only issue is car parking.

I will return
Although the room we booked wasn't prepared my mother and i were offered a double room each which actually suited us better. The first evening we had a meal in the bar and the young man who served us was very helpful. Breakfast staff on both mornings were cheerful and friendly. We were a little disappointed with our service in the bar on the Monday evening when both female members of staff went outside, presumably for a 'smoke', leaving a customer to fetch 1 when we wanted another drink. The senior member of staff appeared to be drinking on duty which i certainly do not approve of.
