Quirky. verging on eccentric, a welcome change from bland chain hotels
Not for those seeking a minimalist rectangular room - follows more the maximalist approach to interior design with imaginative use of colour in the decor and plenty of individualistic touches in the room furnishings. Very good breakfast cooked to order.

Great hotel - but watch out for the "Late Rooms" room!
The building is lovely and compact and when we arrived in the room it was very well furnished, like a studio apartment, with a luxurious wet-room bathroom and large flat screen. However on our first night, we realised we had the 'bum' room... It's an old building, and the "Garden Room" which we had is in the basement, directly under the kitchen. The kitchen that is busy until after 11pm and starts up again at 6am. And if you want to rest or sleep during those hours - forget it! Every thump, bump and shuffle sounds like the kitchen staff are about to fall through the ceiling. I am not joking, during our 3 night stay, we were woken (after late nights) at 6am every morning. On check-out when I complained to the manager - she simply said "Most guests don't mind the noise, and proceeded to charge full rate!" So, it's a nice building, but customer service is poor - not even an apology let along a discount. And for God sake - do not get the Garden Room. Other than that the breakfast was nice, and the cost of the stay was reasonable.

My stay at Harrogate Brasserie
Thoroughly enjoyed my 3 day stay during atrocious weather conditions. Staff friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Food excellent and enjoyed live music in the evening. Stayed in room 19 which had been recently refurbished and was really comfortable and spacious. Will certainly stay again as a regular visitor to Harrogate.

Good Value for the Money
Situated in the centre of Harrogate with off street parking. Reception was warm, very friendly and efficient. Room was a real treat, very large with a sizable bathroom and home from home decoration and furniture. The early bird evening meal was really good with an extensive menu of exceptionally good cooked food. Jazz music played until 10.00 was good and added a relaxed atmosphere to the dining area. Breakfast was a real treat, basically everything from a piece of toast to a full english. Definitely recommend and I look forward to my nexat stay there.

A pleasure
This was my second time at the Harrogate Brasserie, and like the first, I'm very impressed. I was travelling alone- which I haven't done before- and was nervous. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. I wanted for nothing. Dinner in the hotel, along with a lovely jazz duo was fabulous. My steak was beautifully cooked. I'm disappointed I couldn't fit in a dessert. Breakfast is made to order in the morning an is of a high standard. Full English AND continental if you so desire. I stayed in the garden room, which I noticed has had poor reviews. Yes, you can hear the kitchen staff upstairs- but don't let this put you off. The room is beautifully decorated, had a selection of reading material (the bride stripped bare!- which made me chuckle) an the bathroom is AMAZING! All in all, I had a great stay and I would not hesitate to recommended it to friends- in fact, I already have. Well done Harrogate Brasserie!

An hidden gem in Harrogate.
Fantastic in every way. Staff was brilliant and food was first class, Spent 3 nights their, Great location, parked the car on arrival and walked every where, as it is very central. Cannot fault in any way. One last thing the food was to a standard that far exceeded my expectations at a very reasonable price. 10/10 Thank you for three great nights.

Chilling in the Brasserie
Good points: friendly service; live jazz; cheerful and attractive decor in bedroom and en-suite; large shower area; proximity to wide selection of restaurants and attractions; plentiful reading material; interesting assortment of pictures on the walls that lend "character" Not so good: very dark interiors even by day; strong smell of beer downstairs from early evening; no lounge to relax in; no lunch snacks/meals available during our stay; no room service; food choices somewhat limited; small parking area to rear; hall somewhat cramped (would be worried about making a swift and safe exit in the event of a fire)

Superb
Great location. Loved the individual style of the room. Very clean and what a comfy bed. Food was unbelievable, we had dinner in the restaurant on Friday when there was a jazz band - great music - really enjoyed the evening (the desserts are to die for). Breakfast - spoilt for choice. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Free parking a bonus. We will be back !!!
