good location but basic
to admit it is cheap for London but I have stayed in better hostels with more facilities. Great location and the bed was comfortable and clean the chair in the room was dirty and no safe in the room, good breakfast and friendly staff. Not sure I would stay again rather pay a bit more for a more comfortable room and bathroom (bathroom was very small).

Cannot fault this for a bargain stay in central London
Booked room + breakfast for £45 through Laterooms- overall excellent, you certainly cannot fault this as the only way to stay cheaply in central London. Room was of course small and basic but spotless; access to kitchen and bathrooms next door; surprisingly quiet for central city location. Windows open, so no problem in September having no air-con. Bed comfortable. Breakfast very good indeed- generous, varied, good quality- served in a rather basic canteen and on paper plates but cannot complain. Fantastic location.

basic accomodation
the room was clean but no plug in sink for all 4 days in the although it was reported. the shared facilities of shower, toilet and kitchen were dirty and did not appear to have cleaned on any of the occasions I used them. the walls are fairly thin so you can hear any activity in the adjacent rooms on the same corridor and in the corridor. However you get what you pay for and for a basic hotel in London when you are on limited budget it was ok

I'd stay again...
Pleasantly surprised! Great location and felt safe, which was important for me as a female, working in the area beyond midnight. Rooms were lovely, staff lovely. Shared bathroom/shower was clean and didn't have to queue, which was one if my worries. Only negative was people in my block left the kitchen really messy, didn't do their washing up etc. And the doors are really noisey, so when people return at 1-2am, you hear their doors slam.

Not like being a student again
I expected this to be a revisit to a typical halls of residence experience from decades gone by, but this place was nothing like it. Hotel quality rooms (and a recently refurbished hotel too), clean linen and everything else, no traffic cones in the corridor, and a bountiful, varied and healthy breakfast to help with the hangover. If you're OK with not having an en suite, this is a great option.

Good value for money
The rooms are clean, serviceable and secure. Very welcoming and helpful reception, excellent location (especially if you are in London for the theatre) and the best breakfast I have had in a London hotel, unless you are expecting a fry up. 21 different types of fruit made my heart sing; also croissants, bagels, toast, pancakes, cereals, porridge, cheese, ham, boiled eggs, yoghurt, real coffee, hot chocolate, large selection of tea - brilliant. There is also a fully equipped kitchen with fridge, microwave, crockery and cutlery. Not so good: teensy tiny shower where even I (at 5ft2) felt claustrophobic and no way of adjusting the shower head. Also it would have been helpful to have a second room key for a twin room. But those are minor points in an otherwise very enjoyable stay.

Would HIGHLY recommend
Where else can you stay in central London for £45, that's clean, friendly and safe? Just wish LSE halls were open all year round!
