Quality hall of residence available in collage summer break.
Very tidy and efficient, secure accommodation, good internet, helpful staff, fantastic location, good continental style breakfast.
Just a pity it's occupied by students and not available to the general public for most of the year.
A cheap overnight stay in town.
The location is very central.
I arrived late and was given a warm and informative welcome. I slept well. The rooms were quiet and the corridors secure - each small area had its own key code. The only downside was that the shower was scalding hot - I couldn't stand in it.
It's utilitarian, student accommodation. Not a hotel but fine for an overnight stay.
Noisy and uncomfortable
I stayed recently at LSE Northumberland Avenue, and it couldn't have been more different (Northumberland Ave was good).
I accept that it is student accommodation, so basic. I was disappointed that it wasn't en-suite (I had thought it was) but that wasn't the real problem. The bed was massively uncomfortable; but more to the point the noise from the road was terrible. It's in London, so you expect busy, but not to feel as though you are sleeping on the road. This is the first time I have written a bad review; but this was awful.
The room was clean and tidy.
Good choice of food for breakfast.
Great price good location lovely breakfast great for students
Room was basic but had everything I needed wardrobe, desk bed, bedside table lots of storage I was only staying one day.
Also had a sink in my room. Did not like the shower facilities was not that great and clean due to others using it and leaving it a mess. But I had a great night sleep breakfast was continental but great variety. Loads of fresh fruit such as bananas pineapple, apples, plums and more, cereal toast with lots of toppings, yoghurt, pancakes etc. If you want to stay in london it's a great price you pay for what you get basic but convenient.
"Does what it says on the tin"
LSE High Holborn is an excellent example of cheap-and-cheerful central London accomodation, and excellently located (5m walk from the Holborn tube station).
Comes with a generous Continental breakfast.
Excellent budget accommodation in the heart of London
This was exactly what I wanted a cheap, comfortable room within walking distance of Covent Gardens and the show I wanted to see.
Lovely staff, Quiet room, fully equipped kitchen if you want to cook, baggage storage an excellent breakfast. thank you very much, will stay again
the room was clean but no plug in sink for all 4 days in the although it was reported.
the shared facilities of shower, toilet and kitchen were dirty and did not appear to have cleaned on any of the occasions I used them. the walls are fairly thin so you can hear any activity in the adjacent rooms on the same corridor and in the corridor. However you get what you pay for and for a basic hotel in London when you are on limited budget it was ok
good location but basic
to admit it is cheap for London but I have stayed in better hostels with more facilities.
Great location and the bed was comfortable and clean the chair in the room was dirty and no safe in the room, good breakfast and friendly staff. Not sure I would stay again rather pay a bit more for a more comfortable room and bathroom (bathroom was very small).
Cannot fault this for a bargain stay in central London
Booked room + breakfast for £45 through Laterooms- overall excellent, you certainly cannot fault this as the only way to stay cheaply in central London.
Room was of course small and basic but spotless; access to kitchen and bathrooms next door; surprisingly quiet for central city location. Windows open, so no problem in September having no air-con. Bed comfortable. Breakfast very good indeed- generous, varied, good quality- served in a rather basic canteen and on paper plates but cannot complain. Fantastic location.
