Quaint but remote

A nice little place albeit off the beaten track.

You will definitely need a car to go places as there's not much around here at all. Phone signal on any network is bad in the region as a whole, but it's particularly bad here. Sadly the room we stayed in didn't have wifi so this made things very difficult. The owners did turn it on and it worked to a degree but kept dropping out. Second night it was off completely.

A little cold at night as the heating goes off early but there is an electric heater provided to make life more comfortable. We needed to put this on a few times. Breakfast is served from 8.30 to 9.30, so a narrow window and not for early risers. Continental was delivered to our room the night before as we had to leave at 8.30 one morning.

Response from hotel

We would like to just say a few words regarding your recent quite negative review of The Old Farmhouse. Firstly the title you gave is deceiving as we do not consider ourselves in the slightest 'remote', we maybe out of the way and very quiet and peaceful, but it only takes 10 minutes to walk down to the village and the shops as you did yourselves. Secondly, with regard to being cold, our heating is on from 3.30pm to 10.30pm and we think this is usually long enough for most guests, when you checked in we did say you can turn the radiator up or down as necessary. Thirdly your comment about our breakfast times, we find that anytime between 8.30 and 9.30 suits most people, however if someone does want an earlier breakfast we would certainly accommodate them and have done in the past. When we discussed breakfast with you on your arrival we got the impression you preferred to have a tray left in your room for the first morning as you had an early start, if you weren't happy with this, why didn't you say at the time and we would has given you an early breakfast, we did offer this to you. It is a shame that you didn't mention any of these issues at the time but waited until you got home to publish a not so complementary review. With regard to the poor wifi, as we explained to you, we were installing a new booster router and that should improve reception, but you must accept that we are not in a large town or city and signals are not going to be as good, this also applies to mobile signals being generally poor in North Wales and there is not much we can do about that. We feel we always go above and beyond for all our guests and provide beautiful rooms in a stunning locations and we are sorry you did not find us to your satisfaction.

Don't usually fill in feedback forms, but the Old Farmhouse ticked every box with quality, location, view and hospitality.

Highly recommended.

Perfect getaway, stunning views and welcoming, friendly hosts.

Everything about our stay was really lovely.

The room was spacious and very comfortable with lovely views looking out onto the courtyard and the sea in the distance. The whole setting was delightful and really helped us to relax and unwind - pub and restraunts near by. Sally and Tim the owners were incredibly friendly and helpful. We will definitely be staying here again in the future.

Friendly, warm welcome from Tim and Sally on arrival.

Extremely comfortable room with lots of added extras to make our stay special. We had our two Labradors with us; this was not a problem as this is a dog friendly establishment. Breakfast was delicious. Tim and Sally go that extra mile to ensure their guests have a great stay. Would definitely recommend to others.

An oasis

A beautiful place that has been lovingly restored.

The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, yet discreet and unassuming. It was a real privilege to spend time here and the ambience was one of peacefulness and healing. Many, many thanks.

Perfect Break

We had a very enjoyable stay at The Old Farmhouse.

The quality of the accommodation and facilities was extremely high and Tim and Sally made us feel very welcome. Good value for money. Being able to chill in the hot tub in beautiful surroundings was a nice treat after a long day.

Lovely break

Tim & Sally are excellent hosts and we were made extremely welcome from the first minute.

It was our anniversary and we were greeted by wine and a card, lovely thoughtful touch. The garden rooms are really comfortable and very quiet. The breakfast is really worth having, cereal, fruit and the full English. Hot tub was a blessing especially after a days walking.

A lovely welcome after a long drive

After a delayed start, when I finally reached 'The Old Farmhouse' in the early evening, what a nice welcome that the owners came out to greet me.The room was lovely, and the bed was extremely comfortable.

Breakfast was very tasty, and an excellent start to the day. Certainly a lovely place to stay.
