Great little hotel in the centre of Maidstone, 8 mins walk from station.
Very friendly helpful staff. Good value for money and comfortable rooms.
Maybe I was just unlucky with my room, generally good hotel, but terrible nights sleep.
Overall the hotel was of a good standard - looked fine, but could do with perhaps a little more attention to detail/fine tuning.
(eg.. my kettle cord didn't actually reach the plug socket!)
Customer service was mixed - when I first arrived staff seemed friendly and helpful. However at check-out, I felt much less valued as a customer: Having had a terrible nights sleep due to some persistent noise, which sounded like pipes creaking/banging, in my room, every ten minutes.. I waited to be asked how my stay had been.. I wasn't asked.
I'm not one for complaining, but I thought I should at least tell them about the noise, so they might investigate it further. I felt my comment wasn't taken seriously - not only did he not seem apologetic/even concerned that I had had a terrible nights sleep, he also dismissed my suggestion that the noise had sounded like pipes, telling me point blank that it wouldn't be that. I was only trying to suggest they investigate the noise, to avoid anymore unhappy customers in the future.. he said they would look into it, but in a way that suggested they probably wouldn't. Other than that, the room was clean and warm, and fine for a night.
staff friendly and helpful.accomodation comfortable and clean outside areas lovely.food excellent.
Close to shops, clubs, rivet boat.
A great hotel
Attentive staff, lovely room, great room service, excellent cocktails and exceptional food!
Staff pretty rude, rather laughing than service.
Paid for breakfast which in the morning never been served. Waiter was doing everything apart from working.
Very clean room, tea / coffee making in the room real plus, only one small thing room over looked the restaurant so could do with window nets half window as people eating could see more than meat & two veg when coming out the shower in to the room
So niceeee and clean
Really good night
The room needed updating, but the restaurant more than made up for it.
Was assured on arrival that the cheif would prepare me a veggie hot breakfast within meat or diary.
I ended up with a fruit salad that took 20 minutes to prepare and a peice of toast that cost £10.
This hotel deserves a much higher rating than the two stars it has.
From the minute we arrived we were made to feel welcome, nothing was too much trouble. The family room was great, decor superb, very clean, lovely tea tray with lots of choice. The food was absolutely superb!. Would highly recommend.
