Excellent stay in beautiful scenery.
A very pleasant place to stay
A friendly warm welcome and excellent ales at the bar!!
Could be a lot better
The cleanliness of the resident areas leave a lot to be desired, badly stained carpets, lots of cobwebs, badly stained and damaged walls.
Service exceedingly slow. Food (breakfasts) could contain regional food. Won't go again.
perfect night in the lakes
Escape to the Lakes
The Woolpack Inn is a warm and hospitable oasis within the dramatic lakeland scenery.
The welcome is warm and friendly. The room and the view were perfect. The bar had lots of wood burners in various rooms so you could chill out in a small room or mix with the locals in the larger bar area which had Sky Sports. The food was excellent and included lots of local produce. I would recommend the pie although you would need to do a long walk to eat a whole pie . The beer was well kept and the bar staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good especially the hearty Lakeland breakfast. The pub dog is lovely. I wanted to take her home . The area is full of good walks for those who want to explore. All in all I didn't want to leave and go home.
Relaxed stay in lovely natural surroundings
Staff friendly and helpful.
Food was amazing....including our bar meal which was of gourmet pub standards and breakfast.
We booked the room with the jacuzzi bath ( room 8) and it was well worth the extra pennies...it would have easily fit a small rugby team in it to be honest... Lots of lovely walks right on your doorstep including waterfalls and scalfell pike.
Bed was very comfortable and my husband was especially pleased with the large flat screen tv in the bedroom and sports coverage in the bar downstairs.
Dogs and children are made very welcome too.
Please be aware that the hotel will take a £50 deposit on booking.
Tip: try the tatty pot. Lush!!.
