Having stayed here before, I considered myself lucky to get a booking for the Easter bank holiday.
Let me start by saying, the location is what this Inn is all about. The harbour area is literally outside the door. Although the Inn has no parking, there is a car park opposite but you better get there early or very late. (£7 for 24 hrs). Don't be fooled by the " modern" rooms,a lick of paint over peeling paper ( which was peeling the last time we stayed), does not make something "modern". The rooms are clean and tidy, end of. Don't be fooled into paying the extra for a sea view, car park view is what you get but to be fair you probably get a worse view from another room. We stayed in room 3 and this is next to the main stairs and landing door, with the beauty room opposite, this obviously gets busy and therefore noisy. We were very didisappointed with the first breakfast, we sat there for 15 minutes before anybody came to us. People that came in after us were eating before we even got coffee, it wasn't until I asked that we got noticed. The menu is very limited and it took a further 35 minutes before we were served a very bland and not particularly well cooked full English, although the second days breakfast was cooked better. (Different chef ?). Since our last visit they have changed the layout of the pub area in the lower part and in my opinion this has lost its character but it has obviously increased the earning potential. Since we have got back, I have looked at various options for future visits and for the high price we paid there are definitely better options. There are several nice places to eat and drink within yards of this Inn, so shop around. Overall, location good but we came away disappointed, we will be back but not to the old custom house.
The Old Custom House
Rooms were very clean.
Lovely stunning views of the harbour. Good quality breakfast. Staff very friendly. Will be coming back.
HOTEL WAS GOOD STAFF,FOOD, BEDROOMS WERE GREAT ONE AREA OF CONCERN WAS THE SHOWER IN THIS DAY AND AGE TO HAVE A BATH/SHOWER FILLER OVER THE BATH AND A NYLON CURTAIN WHICH WHEN THE EXTRACTOR WAS ON JUST CLUNG TO YOU IS IN MY OPINION NOT GREAT I WOULD EXPECT BETTER FOR THE PRICE OF THE ROOM HAVING SAID THAT IT DID NOT SPOIL OUR BREAK IN ANY WAY.
One night stay, nothing spectacular.
Room was OK, welcome was OK, bar service was good and breakfast was very good.
Old Custom House Padstow
It was all about location.
Right on the quayside in a beautiful setting. Pricey but worth it.
The Old Custom House

Sarahs birthday visit.
The bed could have been harder for us.
The noise from the next door room was easily heard during the nighttime. Great views of the harbour from our room.
