We had looked forward to this stay for so long! Such a disappointment.
Hotel is beautiful and the location is outstanding, however the hearing in the hotel is unbearable.
Our room was 31 degrees at night. We were told the hearing is controlled centrally and could not be altered. A fan was provided but this just circulated the warm air around. We had French windows in our room with shutters, so we're unable to open these at night. My husband is an asthmatic and the heat was just unbearable. We both never had a wink of sleep all night, which defeated the object of a peaceful break for us. We highlighted the problem at checkout and were told the director would be in contact immediately. Three days later we have heard nothing. We went to leave and the receptionist embarrassed us greatly by saying our room hadn't been paid for and we needed to pay as my card had been declined. There were other guests waiting to check out and overheard the conversation. We had paid for our room directly with yourselves and did not have any additional items to pay for so our bill was zero. The receptionist would not listen to me she kept on the bill had to be paid. I showed her my online bank statement highlighting the transaction paid to you and she argued I did not pay you I paid them direct. We were made to feel so small, it ruined our stay and love for the hotel completely. We eventually left and 15 minutes later had a call from the hotel to say they had located the payment and sorry for the inconvenience. Not good enough at all from this standard of hotel. Many guests were complaining whilst we were staying. Maybe a slippery slope I fear. Very disappointing.
Excellent Beachside Hotel
Warm and friendly. Clientele of mostly 60++. Beautiful setting right on beach superb views from dining room. Very enjoyable for mid week break.
Staff were very friendly, chilled out and helpful.
Food - excellent.
South Sands Boutique Hotel
Fabulous weekend, wonderful location, ideal for walking the coastal path, would recommend the hotel to anyone.

A lovely hotel in a great spot.
Staff were friendly and polite, the hotel was spotlessly clean and has a good relaxed atmosphere. Wake up to the lapping of the sea a few yards from your window. We paid a reduced price through laterooms.com and it was pretty good value for money - not so sure I would have paid full price to be honest, for that price you could get great hotels with more amenities. Be aware there's nothing much else within a short walk, so be prepared to either jump in the car or eat at the hotel restaurant, which is very good by the way, especially if you like fish.
Room with a view
We had a luxury room we could watch the sea from our bed and listen to it from the 2 juliet balconies.
The restaurant provided mainly sea food which was first class. Service was excellent without being being intrusive. Wine was a little expensive. Rather busy in season but this was for my birthday.
Returned for the second year -this time we booked a sea view room, instead of overlooking the car park.
Room 18 was smaller than we had last time but nonetheless, very clean and had all we needed, plus a great view of the sea. The food was up to the same standard as last year (Excellent), mainly fish, which we both loved. Beautifully cooked and served by the friendly, cheerful staff.
