Gun Lodge Hotel - Inverness

The hotel is within a minutes drive or taxi to the Airport, and has fantastic views over the bay albeit it was a little cold for site seeing on my visit.

The room was adequate for my stay and very clean. The evening meal and breakfast were really nice, with a good choice of local and traditional food. What made the stay even more pleasant was the attentiveness of all the staff, would definitely book with this hotel again albeit in warmer weather, but you can't hold them responsible for that now can you.....

We stayed here as it was near the airport.

The room I stayed in was spotlessly clean. The room was warm and the bed comfy. We had dinner and the meal was fine. Staff very friendly. Only neg. was the dog barking and the dog smell ( although a great effort was made to disguise it) when entering and exiting.

The Gun Lodge - A Piece of History

The Gun Lodge is the last remaining hotel with accommodation in the tiny village of Ardersier, I believe.

We were happy to have been able to book a room at fairly short notice in High Season. The hotel is being updated on an ongoing basis, as funds and time allow, according to owner, who was very pleasant. Our room was one of the smallest double rooms we have ever stayed in, but think a second bedside table and lamp could have been squeezed in. Similarly, a mirror would have been useful. On the plus side, room was spotlessly clean and bathroom was a generous size, with large shower enclosure - very spacious. There was an ample supply of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits too. Wee bit noisy due to proximity of room to entrance/exit to downstairs - door banged loudly each time someone used it. - however it was good to see a Fire Door actually being used safely and not propped open as in some hotels, We wish The Gun Lodge 'All the best' for the future..

Great time had by all

Excellent place to say for getting to see the surrounding area.

Great to be away from the biz of Inverness. Great views over the water. The staff were terrific could not do enough for your. The food was to die for and all made from freshly sourced products.

cozy and unexpectedly lovely rooms

the staff are welcoming and helpful.

Though the hotel in general looks old, I was surprised that the rooms are newly refurbished and was very comfortable. The restaurant also serves lovely food. I would definitely recommend and I would come back. It's also near the airport and the river.

Double bed was 2 single beds together - which left an uncomfortable ridge in the middle
