The Fox Inn
A good place to stay and to dine at.
A small, old village pub with just 4 small bedrooms. Cosy and welcoming. Very handily located for many National Trust premises as well as Silverstone and the British Motor Museum. The small Residents' Entrance lobby needed refreshing and the stairs up to the rooms were very steep. Our room had a comfy bed and was lovely and quiet at night. The duvet was too heavy for us but was changed for cooler 'throw' the next night. We took our evening meals in the pub dining area each night. The food was fresh and well cooked. (The same applies to our breakfasts). The bar was frequented by friendly locals and I had a choice of 3 real ales. The en-suite shower room was very small with a door which wouldn't close and a mirror light which didn't. Solutions: sit on the loo with your head against the door; shave by touch. Would we visit the Fox again. Definitely. Would we stay again. Very likely. Great character....
A disappointing overnight stay
I'm sorry to say that we were disappointed.
Lovely pub in charming village. The bed was good with clean bed linen and there were nice white towels but the paintwork was grubby and badly scuffed and the carpet dirty. We could smell burning and it turned out to be the amount of dust on the lamp bulb. Breakfast was appalling. The chef brought us two pieces of standard white sliced toast to begin with, struggled to find cereal, saying "It goes off before it gets used" then without checking what we would like or what we ate, produced two huge full breakfasts which we didn't want then blamed his bar staff as "idiots" for not having asked us what we wanted for breakfast the previous evening. Very disappointed and we will not be returning or recommending it.
Very poor rooms are very tired and grubby food was poor no one arrived in time for breakfast !.
Said they had overslept !. Would not go back !!
David and Cheryls stay after British Grand Prix 2016
Very nice evening meal there on a Monday.
Breakfasts were full English and freshly cooked though no real choice. Had a bit of difficulty finding the staff in the morning and we came back at 10:25pm on a Tuesday and the place was closed. Lots of character nice quiet village with lake.
A Friendly Pub
Friendly country location, yet close enough to the M40 to be useful to a business traveller.
Noise from the beer cooler (an air-conditioning unit) can intrude on sleep.
Friendly genuine traditional pub offering great food and drink
The Fox Inn is ideally located for those wishing to explore Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, including such locations as Oxford City, Blenheim Palace, Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit, and Bicester Village Retail Outlets.
However, a car is essential.

Lovely overnight stay "food outstanding"
We had the pleasure of staying overnight whilst visiting Oxford/Bicester.
Check in was friendly and fuss free, yes the rooms are a little tired and fairly small (the building is hundreds of years old!) but spotlessly clean and very comfortable, had a lovely nights sleep. We booked for an evening meal and what a delightful evening we had, the pub/restaurant has so much character it's lovely, the staff and other visitors were friendly, helpful and chatty. The food was outstanding, homemade pate, anti pasta, homemade fish and chips, Duck and a delightful trio of desserts. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again

We arrived here after being let down by late rooms double booking elsewhere.
Really glad we did, on arrival the staff were very welcoming and genuine. More so than I have experienced before, when I said we would be too early for breakfast they offered us a lunch outside the door in the morning... When I mentioned I was Vegan the chef went to the shop and handmade us a breakfast each to wake up to. I will be coming back again.
I booked on late rooms when there were two rooms available but the pub cancelled on us the day before and telephoned.
