Very friendly and welcoming.
Perfect for our short stay. Would recommend and would return again.
Made to feel most welcome.
Roomy accommodation. Only down side was room was on the ground floor close to kitchen so a little noisy whilst kitchen in use.
lovely unusual place to stay
We found this a very unique experience and not at all run of the mill.
If you enjoy something a bit different this is for you. The food was adequate, but not inspiring although it was good basic food. The people were all very welcoming especially the manager John. We really enjoyed our stay and fully intend to go again sometime.
Welcoming host, amazing views, peaceful place to stay
Received a wonderful welcome from David and thoroughly enjoyed the whole three night stay in the family room which had amazing views.
A peaceful delightful place to go and stay with our two boys. We will definitely stay there again if visiting Plymouth without a doubt. Thankyou.
Stayed in the flowery room which was a bit over powering at times.
The room could do with a scented candle or plug in air freshner or the windows left open to air the room. As for the manager John he couldn't be more amiable & accommodating & had exceptional customer service skills. Just wish the owner could see the potential in the B&B.
What a wonderful place to stay, the room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, the breakfast was delicious, we felt really welcome ...
and all at a brilliant price. Lovely views too. Excellent all round, we definitely want to come again. We had to arrive very late but even this was no problem - thank you!
Four poster bed
lovely old building with excellent views over the gold course.
sadly it is a little tired and needs some tender loving care spent on the building and furniture, however, the staff were very friendly and helpful real homely feel, no need for all the finery, so very relaxing. We would stay again but only if it was on offer £70 per night was a little steep for a basic stay.
Good value but a little quirky
Nice old manor under renovation.
In a great setting with lovely views. It's only just turning into a hotel from a B&B on the side of the golf course and it's still somewhere in between. Got the room through late rooms and at the price it was very good. The room was opposite the kitchen and looked out onto scaffold and was a bit dark and gloomy - so was the weather though. The hotel and food seem to come from different people which was a bit strange. Food was fine though both for breakfast and dinner, Pub and food at the end of the drive as well - but closed Mondays.
Great country hotel, well worth the experience.
What a fantastic hotel.
This is our 3rd stay at the Welbeck.
It is a lovely hotel and the staff are so helpful and friendly. The family room is big and airy and if I had to make a criticism it would be that the mattress is very soft and we prefer a firm mattress. Saying that it always is difficult to sleep in a strange bed. Breakfast is fresh and prompt and the view over the golf course is stunning. The children are treated as valuable guests the same as any paying adult.
