Stunning Location - and the roar of lions if you are lucky!
Okay, so it is in need of some refurbishment but it was clean, comfortable, oozing with character and the stunning views are breathtaking. With breakfast included we thought it was good value for money.

Excellent short stay, lovely views
This is a little gem tucked away on the edge of Dartmoor. We booked about 30 minutes before checking in, and were talked through the process of getting keys via mobile phone with no problems by very friendly hotel owner.
The hotel itself has lovely interior and a stunning view over its 9 hole golf course. Fantastic.

Shame, stunning location, beautiful building, just needs lots of TLC....room was not good, bathroom worse.... Breakfast was reasonable, but the food in the bar (available some evenings) was good and the chef was chatty and told us all about the surrounding area.. Stayed there for Dartmoor Zoological park (across the road) as have always wanted to go there, what a disappointment has put me off zoos for a long time...

would not return
Very small room overlooking golf shop, very load golfers shouting 7.30 in the morning as a wake up call!! room needed total reburb, damp walls in bathroom and shower just a dribble,Bed covers need replacing as old and worn, .breakfast very basic, full english was ok but sides ie cereal and yogurts hardly any choice at all so therefore we didn't bother. The only good side of this hotel was the grounds and the staff who were friendly, I wouild not recommend this hotel, it was a cheap deal but would rather pay a bit more and enjoy the experience.

Not for buisiness users
Scruffy little place in a pretty rural location. Quiet and remote. Wifi can be best described as patchy, the TV's are barely functional, the grounds are fantastic, but the building is run down. Expect dust on the rads and skirting boards, the power to trip out occaisionally, and the heating to be tempermental.
Breakfast is hearty and billed from 8am, but don't expect to be out before 1/2 past.
If yo want to get away from it it is fine, if you need to be at work on time, forget breakfast.
