A weekday at the Manor House Hotel - Dronfield
For a business trip I booked the Manor House hotel extremely late (only the day before) so I wasn't sure what to expect.
I was pleasantly surprised. There was plenty of off-street parking, the staff were lovely and extremely helpful. The room itself was well presented and clean, as too was the ensuite. The bed was comfortable and I had a great nights sleep. The food available in the restaurant was reasonably priced and of excellent quality. All in all, if you are staying for business or personal reasons, I recommend the Manor House Hotel.
Just what I needed
Is attending a family funeral business or leisure.
No matter. The staff at the Manor House Hotel could not have been kinder or more helpful at a difficult time. They accommodated my dietary requirements with imagination (I shall not soon forget the sweet potato wedges!) and carried my bag up the attractive but possibly hazardous outside stone steps. The room was quirky - a large photo of Steve MacQueen was not my style but that's hardly important. If I wanted to criticise the room I would say a) The shelf in the shower room was not wide enough for my sponge bag (but this is true of the majority of hotels - I have a large sponge-bag) and b) The missing knob on the door was unsightly but not troublesome. All in all, I wish I had stayed there in happier circumstances. I probably won't stay there again but that is because I will now have no reason to visit Dronfield.
A fantastic weekend break at this hotel.
We had one of the suites (Loren) which was very well appointed, equipped and clean. The staff here really go that extra mile to make you feel welcome and to facilitate your requests. We underestimated how busy the venue is in the evening for food and despite not booking a table soon enough and despite their book being full they brought an extra table in and laid it up for us. The food choice, quality, price and wine selection(very well priced too) was absolutely tremendous; well done. My only criticism is one that is out of the hotels control in that our room was above a street level entry to a music club next door. On both Fri and Sat nights smokers and grouos congegate under the window which disturbed us several times throughout the early hours. That said we had a super stay here and plan to go back again for a similar break in a lovely area.
Another great stay.
The welcome, room and service were all excellent as always and I look forward to my next visit.
high quality at a low price
Highly professional staff.
Lovely room. Excellent food. Low cost. Superb for a single traveller. I stay in many hotels and I rate this highly. Thank you
Friendly staff, a lively atmosphere, so noise was an acceptable consequence.
Good food, although the organisation of breakfast could be improved.
Staff could'nt do enough for us.
The evening meal and breakfast were excellent ,
Would like ensuite room next time, didn't like having to go out of room to use the bathroom.booked here because family lived close by.
Had a good visit.
Saturday night only
Fab hotel to stay for just one night.
Very comfortable room although ours seemed to lack an onsuite the bathroom was across the landing, all the other rooms seemed to be catered for as advertised. Saying that we both slept well. We had an evening meal and sunday dinner in the hotel and WOW. The food was exceptional and even though the place was full to the rafters the staff all dealt with it with smiles on their faces and couldn't do enough for you.
review of visit to derbyshire
We had a brilliant experience staying in Dronfield.
The Hotel staff could not have been more helpful. Found no faults anywhere. Would definitely recommend. Would love to return to stay there even though our destination was several miles away.
