Reviews - Deerpark Lodge

Castleknock Road, Castleknock , Dublin,
An elegantly decorated property ideally situated at the gates of the Phoenix Park home to Dublin Zoo, Aras an Uachtarian and Farmleigh. The historic village of Castleknock is within walking distance providing an excellent selection of pubs and restaurants.

Good accommodation at a great spot.
Deerpark Lodge is at a great spot near the Phoenix Park with a busstop to city centre at walking distance. The B&B itself is run by friendly staff. The problem I had with my room was that there was no functioning television, the kettle was missing and the room wasn't cleaned every day. Too top it off the shower wasn't working properly.

Very basic accommodation
Bathroom was very basic, no toiletries such as shampoo supplied other than a basic liquid hand wash. Very bad mould and mildew problem in the bathroom. Broken handbasin, bathroom door (wouldn't close fully or lock), wardrobe door. Beds were very comfy and clean though. everything else was very basic and of a very poor standard. Hospitality of the manager was good but little was done despite my verbal complaint within an hour of arriving.

To be avoided.
This is poor accommodation. We would never use the place again as it doesn't even meet the basic standards of cleanliness & comfort of a Travel Lodge or the like. There was certainly none of the traditional, warm-hearted welcome that the Irish people are famous for!
