Very good value for money and would definitely stay again
Innkeeper's Lodge Birmingham (West), Quinton
Outstanding and excellent value for money
Our stay was lovely, staff were very pleasant room and food was good too
Busy Toby Carvery but quiet in hotel.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Rooms/Hotel adequate but a little dated and could certainly benefit from a freshen up. Down stairs the carvery is very. Did not eat in the restaurant the evening of my stay due to the wait time however plenty of alternatives over the road - found an excellent noodle bar. Eat breakfast which was a little overcooked on many items yet was not very hot but at the price of £3.95 can you justify a complaint. OK for an evening stay at a budget price.
Why not '6'?
Delays at the bar apparently due to slow till electronics, or a fault.
Waitress Amy should be commended for helpful advice.
Two Night City Break
The hotel is above a public house incorporating a very busy Toby Carvery, this is where the main focus for the business is, that said, the staff are friendly and helpful when not rushed off their feet waiting on tables.
The room we were first offered was on the ground floor, but immediately adjacent to the window was the smoking are for the pub and the smoke from that meant that there was a strong smell of smoke still lingering in the room. As neither of us smoked we asked to be moved and we were accommodated, the beds are comfy the rooms have tea and coffee making facilities and en-suit, although not the most modern or plush, the rooms are functional and beds were maid towels changed each day as you would expect. The rooms would benefit from having dampers fitted to the doors as you regularly hear doors being slammed shut. There was also a problem with the internet during our stay but am not sure if this was a hotel issue or the internet provider. A continental breakfast was included in the price and an area set aside for residents, however, customers using the pub for a breakfast over run the continental breakfast se aside for residents as this was not clearly defined and roped off and on both mornings they were continually running out of provisions, a little frustrating, as they hadn't paid for it and it was not available when you wanted it, for residents who had. We enjoyed our stay as it is what you make it, but it would not be my first choice to stay if when visiting Birmingham again we would plan in advance and look at a premier inn.
Dot from bristol
Came to hotel in February were very impressed so we booked again have booked for 6 nights in dec ember that's how impressed we were room clean food very good
This was a last minute booking and was a little worried that being part of a Toby Restaurant it would be more food orientated than accommodation.
I was very pleasantly surprised after checking in (at the bar which felt a bit weird) when I got to my room, small but clean, functional, and probably one of the comfiest beds I have ever slept in. I was out like a light but they have been more to do with the great roast that Toby are famous for and a couple (ish) pints. Very noisy (in bar and restaurant) but once you get in room you can't hear anything.
Enjoyed my stay
Spacious, comfortable room.
It was nice to have the extras provided free: box of tissues in the bathroom, soap, shampoo and shower gel (all-in-one in the bathroom), hair dryer in the bedroom. The only problem was a window that wouldn't shut but when I mentioned this to the staff, it was put right on the same day. The continental breakfast was included in the price and there was a good choice of cereals, yoghurt, croissants, fruit juice etc. It would have been even better to have the full English breakfast included in the price too. I did have this one morning and it was good. I am planning to stay again.
