Accommodation & Service excellent. Be aware hotel brochure is out of date concerning menus available
The breakfast was excellent.
However the Boat House is no longer a fish restaurant really. There was salmon but rest of the menu was much wider. The Claret Jug is a short distance away by complimentary minibus transport so once there you can't really change your mind, and we weren't told there was a Curry Night weekly. We were looking for something light.
Amazing location right on Loch Lomond, fabulous hotel.
When we arrived there was a wedding and had bagpipes playing as we entered which just added to the experience. Staff are friendly and helpful and attentive. Would go back just to look out the window and have breakfast!!
Very dissatisfied with Cameron house hotel
The room was excellent however ate in Cameron Grill on our first night.
I could not believe how dirty the floor was with uncleared tables all around. I noticed a 12" diameter spiders web on inside of restaurant window. This was not 5 star dining. The food was very average the steak was a mass of fat with a watery sauce. The experience lets the hotel down badly I would not eat there again. Breakfast was similar stains on chairs tables and crockery and food poor what Were the sausages you were serving dreadful. If the hotel wants to be regarded as 5 star it must up its game cleanliness is paramount and food should be excellent. Both area were dreadful
5 Star label 3 star service
Customer service in bar unacceptably slow as so many other reviews state but it has not improved.
Had to cancel pre dinner drinks as they took around 20 mins and still hadn't even started making them. Bar staff to busy chatting and amusing themselves and not focusing on customers. Too many weddings and they are obviously the priority for the hotel staff. Short staffed in boathouse and in general. We ended up having to eat in Martin Wishart restaurant which was very pricey and very limited menu..not great. We tried to book into the hotel restaurant on both nights of our stay but were unable to. This is unacceptable. What is the point in going to a remote hotel and not being able to book dinner in the restaurant. There is the boathouse but that is a distance away and a casual dining experience. Not what we had planned for in terms of evening dress.
Will never be a 5 star unless they improve the level of staffing and customer service. Concierge service is great, why can't the rest of the customer service be as efficient and customer focused.
Dark dark dark
It starts at reception and then remains when you reach your room. The decor is reminiscent of an old gentleman's club with lots of tartan.Impossible to re-touch makeup as the bathroom is dark and there is no magnifying mirror.
The beds are fabulously comfy but tacky with monstrous fake suede headboards
Views of the Loch are spectacular, this may be enough to impress foreign visitors.
From the moment we arrived at cameron house to the rainy departure we had a wonderful time.
We were greeted by bagpipes on arrival. The hotel is beautiful and you feel really special while you are there. All staff are so friendly. The room was lovely with a breathtaking view of the loch. I now prefer loch side to seaside. Fabulous shower, I want one. We had booked a table for dinner at the boat house, as it was raining I requested a car to take us, no problem. A lovely gentleman took us there and back. Very polite friendly, a real asset as are all the staff. We ate so well. Lovely food, plenty of it and beautifully presented.
This was a special treat for my husbands birthday and we both enjoyed every minute of our stay. We will definitely be watching out for any offers so that we can return.
Picture pleasant perfect stay
Very tentative staff, family friendly warm 5 star hotel.
Nice surroundings and food-However some basic issues need to be looked at to improve the experience
The food at the Martin Wishart restraurant was superb and the service second to none.
However I have to say I did not expect the bed we slept in to be so very hard. I was quite annoyed that the double bed I had booked appeared to be merely two single beds pushed together under the bedclothes. This made any movement almost torturous and drifting into the centre of the bed very unpleasant. Unfortunately, my partner also was disturbed by someone in the the next room snoring!. I did not expect the walls in the luxury suite to be so thin, nor was I overly impressed. Overall this meant we got very little sleep, as well as my partner waking up with a painful shoulder the next morning morning due to rolling into the centre of the bed. Thus we were unable to use the leisure facillities, which disappointed us both, as we were both looking forward to this. On the positive breakfast was fantastic and the setting was very relaxing with friendly staff.
Overall, however until these issues are addressed I would not recommend a stay to any friends, owever I would highly commend the facillities for a day trip or dinner and perhaps suggest accomodation elsewhere.
Pleasant stay at Cameron House
Room was comfortable and clean but dark and quite oppressive.
The corridors were also quite dark and so was the Cameron Grill. Service in the Cameron Grill was slow and the food was quite expensive. We dined at The Boathouse on our second night and it was lovely, excellent service although the restaurant was busy and the food was delicious with a good choice and much more realistically priced. The atmosphere in the restaurant was friendly and welcoming. The swimming pool was good and the facilities in the changing room were also good although signposting of the exit and exit to pool would have been helpful.
