The Golf Hotel
Good stopping point although one of the twin beds has seen better days.
Very tired hotel, in need of some modernisation,
Staff where very friendly both on arrival and in the morning,
The hotel is clean and tidy but very tired and in need of decorating inside and out
The window did not operate properly and no catch to secure the window, bare wood could be seen on the outside
The staff were very welcoming & helpful and the room was clean and pleasant.
No Wi Fi was available despite being advertised, which was a downside as I am self-employed and need to access emails.
Breakfast was a challenge, I had only just stated to eat my cereal when the toast arrived, giving it time to go cold and rubbery, so I abandoned my cereal to eat the cereal to start the toast when the main breakfast arrived. I felt rushed, and it annoys me when this happens. The bacon was not very nice so I ended up leaving most of it.
The address was also wrong and had me looking the wrong end of the street, not good after a long journey.
A quiet, peaceful hotel with attentive staff
Enjoyed our stay at The Golf, staff were very helpful and hard working.
Food was nice with generous portions. Surprisingly, to us, busy, given the awful weather and time of year. Convenient on-street parking. Great room with en suite and very comfy bed.
