Excellent. no-fuss accommodation. Good value for money, fantastic staff!
We loved this hotel! We were placed in the Connaught Lodge annexe, next door to the hotel itself. Admittedly it DID feel a bit as if we were entering student accommodation when we went in, but the room was clean, well heated and well-equipped, the bathroom excellent, and the whole thing good value for money. The cooked breakfast was the best we've ever had in any hotel, and without exception, the staff were smart, helpful, friendly and extremely hard working.
Only two small grumbles. In our room, a curtain spanned the 'bedroom' section, but at the window itself was only a net. This meant you couldn't really use the dressing table with the light on at night without being seen from the flats which faced the hotel, unless fully clothed! And whehn you pulled the large curtain over, it invarlably pulled the TV aerial out of its socket - not a problem if you could see what had happened, but I din't think everyone would be able to work out why their TV wasn't working.
But these are just small niggles. We give it 8 out of 10, and would undoubtedly stay there again and recommend it unhesitatingly to anyone looking for good value accommodation in Bournemouth. It's within easy reach of town and beaches, and there's good public transport just around the corner. And (maybe best of all), if you post a review on Trip Advisor, the manager reads every one and responds to them in a constructive way. And, one suspects, he acts on any criticism he receives. No Basil Fawlty here then!
Go on - book it!!

Small room, poor value for money
Room was small but just about functional. The bathroom was so small it didn't have room for a proper door. The door was mounted on slides which were broken and it was difficult to open the door without making alot of noise - not very good for the neighbours or your partner if you wanted to use the bathroom during the night. The bathroom was the smallest I have seen and must have been no larger than 5 ft by 4ft 6 inches
The room also was extremely hot yet the heating was not on. There was no way of regulating the temperature, openning the window had no effect other than to keep us awake at night from traffic noise etc.
Unfortunately a bad experience, we were originally booked in for 3 nights but left after one. Hotel was unable to find us a more suitable room.

A Great stay
My daughter and I had a great welcome ,used the Swimming Pool, Sauna, Steam room and the restaurant for Breakfast .The Restaurant staff looked very smart for Breakfast service, and very attentive to all the customers in the restaurant
The only critism would be to keep the tea in the rooms turned over as it tasted a little musty
