Receptionist was slovenly and certainly did not give a 'welcoming warm reception'.
Bedrom was reasonably clean but bathroom was dirty, dust and hairs behind door, around toilet and in corners. Very poor choice of food available with comment by receptionist "if your having food here we only have a bit Turkey and pork left". So ate out. Will not be staying here again.
Ideal for what we wanted
We booked at the Swan very last minute, after attending an event at the NEC.
We weren't sure whether to go with the "known" quantity of a Travelodge/Premier Inn type room, but opted for this as it was good value and also looked to be a little bit away from the potential noise or traffic of the railway station and airport.
The room was nice and clean. There was a double bed and also a double sofa bed which had been unfolded and made up - if we hadn't been so tired we would probably have folded it back up to give a little bit more room but it wasn't a problem. Shower had plenty of hot water and again was clean. Continental breakfast was included in the price but there was the option to have a cooked breakfast buffet for an additional £4. All in all a good choice - would happily stay here again.
Disappointed with staff, made to feel a bit un welcome.
never got breakfast on second morning as staff was not notified by reception. bar staff very lazy and scrutinised my money as though it was home made. Room was clean but dated with a very noisy corridor. But food in carvery was excellent value for money and pleasant.
A great place to rest your head
Good value but the Accomodation is very worn out, carpets dirty, bad decoration, the bar is also worn and a bit grotty.
What lovely friendly , helpful staff, from booking in, to having our bags taken to our room.
The Bar staff were extremely friendly as were the catering staff, both night & morning. Great food & plenty of choice. But dont take my word for it.... if you are up that way, book a room & see for yourself.
Visiting NEC Birmingham.
Needed a bed for the night as I was attending the Autosport show at the NEC, but needed value for money, the Inn Keepers Lodge Coleshill ticked all the right boxes.
This place is great .Good value good quality food and friendly staff.
