The room did the job

I was staying here to go to a convention at the Hilton.

The room was perfectly fine. It had free wifi, a TV with BBC1/2 etc and Sky one. I had no problems with the room at all. The hotel was very close to the airport and I was able to get the free monorail then walk through the NEC to reach the Hilton as I didn't have a car. The breakfast was all put out like a buffet for guests to help themselves. The only minor problem I had was using the temperamental key card for my room.

Get what you pay for

Myself and a female friend booked a twin room and got put in a double when arrived but was quickly sorted with no issues.

But twin bed so close together that it may as well be a double. Room was of adequate size but a little dusty. Bathroom totally clean with clean towels and extra loo roll left on our second night. Easy access from airport and to NEC but would totally recommend that you use taxis to get anywhere else. Nice hotel.

Customer service needs to be improved

I booked this room for a work colleague, as it was close to the airport, in a good location next to the airport parking.

The hotel clearly has good facilities and is functional for the regular traveller.

However, unfortunately the one thing that seems to let down is customer service. When contacting the hotel via email to request pre-payment for our colleague, I received no response after two emails. It seems my request was not carried out, then when I phoned the hotel, the representative was not overly helpful (albeit it was a bad line). I then emailed again using an alternative email address advised, but to date have still not received any reply.

I generally book quite a number of hotels during the year, but unfortunately this one stands out for all the wrong reasons. I hope the feedback is useful to help address the customer service issue at this hotel.

Everything was almost perfect except the man behind the bar was quite rude when we ordered food.

Also the menu in the rooms is quite hard to understand, particularly about the tv channels. Perhaps needs to be updated.
