Recommended by Condé Nast Johansens

Our inspector loved "The strikingly decorated newly appointed suites."

In the heart of Westminster lies 51 Buckingham Gate, Taj Suites and Residences - the perfect central London five star address. Welcomed by courteous personal butlers, you will enter a world-class five star hotel with some of the most spacious suites in London. In addition, you’ll be ideally located for London’s most iconic attractions – minutes from Buckingham palace and a short walk to Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey.

Suites in 51 Buckingham Gate are equipped with the latest technology, including flat-screen TVs, DVD players and high speed wireless internet and feature award winning contemporary bathrooms and modern kitchens fitted with state-of-the-art equipment. Guests enjoy a pampering in an exclusive setting at the Spa at 51, offering a bespoke range of luxurious treatments designed by Anne Sémonin.

Bistro 51 serves a selection of international cuisine, whilst Quilon is the only restaurant serving South-West Coastal Indian cuisine to have won a Michelin star! Our bars include Zander bar (the longest in the UK!) and the quintessentially English Hamptons Bar. The Courtyard at 51 offers delicious barbeques, shisha, afternoon tea and exquisite cocktails throughout the summer months.

The rest of London is easily accessible, with Victoria Station and St. James’s Park tube stop both a short walk from the hotel. For those requiring parking, an NCP is just minutes away with valet parking available.

everything was 100%..except the room
was 90% blown away with this place, mostly due to the incredibly helpful and friendly staff, they literally could not do more to help you, (with special thanks to the V informative and polite Jon on reception) , Only down side was that we booked what we thought was going to be a top end suite based on the "non sale price" compared to the actual cost we paid. On arrival we were advised we'd been given an upgrade and our expectations increased. we were shown to a suite which was V large, but it did look as though it had been filled with the outdated & unmatching furniture of the other recently renovated rooms, after a while i did feel as though I was a guest at a retirement home. There was slow draining water from the shower and bath, which did make the room smell of drains. this was only noticeable on the morning of our departure as we hadn't used the bath or shower facilities before this (we only had an over night stay) the viol curtains in the living area were V mucky too. I didn't feel comfortable raising concerns with the hotel staff as they seemed so dedicated, it would have felt like a personal insult, but I do think the room had a lot to live up to. however, the staff member on departure did ask id we'd liked the room and we said it was "okay", to which they apologised (without any need for us to elaborate as to why it wasn't fantastic) & offered us a better room the next time we stay. We will be going back, I think maybe the staff did know that maybe the room was below par and chanced it by putting us in it but next time will tell. I would 100% recommend this hotel but would say to check the type of room you'll actually get as the web pictures don't compare to what we were given, cheers

One of those 'Wow' hotels!
A hotel that really left nothing to be desired. From the monemt we set eyes on the place we realised it was something special and this was backed up by the hot towels presented to us upon arrival, the courteous attitude of the staff and the quality of the clientele.
The hotel itself has recently been refurbished and you could tell that the place had no expense spared on it in an attempt to bring it up to the highest standard possible.
We were upgraded to the full suite which included a living area, kitchen (fully equipped), bathroom with a TV and a bedroom which although not too large had enough space for the two of us comfortably.

A luxurious mansion block home from home
Showing us to our apartment (it was more that than a suite) the head butler Sergio struck the perfect note. He was informative, friendly, and understood that we were Londoners intent on a special night out in town. The accommodation was far larger than we'd expected: smallish sitting area, but a large hallway, a kitchen where four could comfortably dine, a luxurious spacious bathroom, and a bedroom with a bed as generously-sized as it was comfortable. There were touches of sheer class: the hand-written card of welcome as well as a more formal letter, a fruit bowl, a pod coffee machine, the calibre of toiletries. (Sadly, previous guests had felt rather too much at home and had handled the sideboard - not the highest quality furniture ever, admittedly - so roughly that the doors no longer functioned. Hardly worth mentioning; only done for balance.) The welcome extended to drinks and delicious canapes in the library (next door) to start off the evening. We returned from dinner out to sample the excellent mixology on offer in the cocktail bar of the next door hotel. Breakfast - also served in the library - was among the best served anywhere. First-rate ingredients, expertly cooked and served. How refreshing it was to experience so much elegant and expert hospitality.
