Hotel was very central for shopping and transport but traffic noise was constant really needs to be double glaced .....beds extremely comfy
Overall a satisfactory stay, window view was high storey car park and side street, but hotel was a central location in the city centre.
Only slight disatisfaction was that I read about the parking spaces available, but not at a charge of a tenner. Would have appriciated knowing that upfront. Other than that a good hotel, maybe more suitable for travel and business than a couples break.
Edinburgh city break
Clean, comfortable, central good bar and services if required.
Just next to portrait gallery beautiful building inside and out.
OK for somewhere to lay your head
The hotel is in a good location.
The room was extremely small although a lovely view down to the sea. Comfy bed and room and shower/toilet was very clean. Definitely a bit expensive at £140 for room only. Continental breakfast at £7.95 pp also a bit steep - on reflection should have eaten out. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Only issue really was the price. Have stayed in better hotels for a lot less with more amenities.
Just a stroll from the train station.
Room adequate for what we paid. Tea coffee etc could have been better stocked. Helpful, friendly staff.
Pleasant central hotel
City centre stop over.
Booked a city centre stop over with parking, parking is first come and only.have six spaces for eight rooms.
Room had good views and was very clean but shower was poor standard, hotel is very near to centre. Good honest budget room only hotel.
Very handily located in the city centre , close to Calton Hill , Waverley Station , pubs , restaurants etc.
My room was spacious and high ceilinged and comfortable in a fine terrace at the start of Georgian New Town. However the huge window was single glazed and the traffic noise was very loud 24/7. This was a drawback as I found it meant that my sleep was interrupted . Some secondary double glazing would solve this irritation but otherwise a great base for the visitor.
Lovely hotel, lovely room
Thoroughly enjoyable stay at this hotel.
The room was lovely and clean. If I have to find a flaw it would be the lack of a top sheet on the bed. But this was minor due to the lovely hotel.
An excellent hotel for the price, very polite helpful staff and very clean room and bathroom.
We were only there for an overnight stay but it has very a very central location just across from The National Portrait Gallery, it is slightly noisy due to traffic but that doesn't bother me.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the room was very clean, the bed comfy and the bathroom was obviously new, very clean and had a great shower. There were nice touches that I wasn't expecting such as complementary shortbread and toiletries. No grumbles except maybe traffic noise might bother some people, the walls could do with some pictures and maybe some sort of reception desk as you go in as a focal point would be nice. But we had a very nice stay and would definitely come back again.
