Not at all how the pictures portray.
Beware. Dirty, beaten up, horribly ventilated. Very very poor indeed. I arrived at the 3rd floor via the old lift and stepped into the corridor to find myself walking through thick kitchen grease/smokers atmosphere. Oddly there doesnt appear to be a kitchen within the hotel ( ascertained n the morning by discovering the fact that 'breakfast'options consisted of cheese slices, toast or chocolate cake) so it must have been air pollution from another nearby business. The room itself suffered the exact same fate. I began to sweat immediately through the room door due to the humidity.. I shut my clothes and possessions in the fusty wardrobe out of desperation to avoid all items taking on the smoke/chip grease aroma. The radiators were on and the ancient air con unit was broken. Rang reception for air con assistance to no avail as the hotel was fully booked to capacity that night and help nor solutions were available. Wow. Impressive that so many people were tricked into paying to stay at this place in the first place and that the hotel is even open for business. Top feature, room had some working plug sockets. Highlight, the lift was a working piece of historic engineering. Would not stay here again. Would recommend the owner/s spend a night in this hotel and see if they like it.
Nothing like the pictures, incredibly bad
If you are expecting a luxury four stars hotel as described, don't waste your time.
You are better of at a Travelodge by some station than in this place. You will be paying for the premium location and that's it. The room is really bad, blue tack on the curtains, painting peeling off the walls, water marks, cheap mattresses, ripped carpets on the stairway. But if at least they were honest about it. But no. They try to con people with pictures and inaccurate description. They state a super discount on their profile to give the impression you will get a fantastic deal for a great hotel. Terribly disappointing.
I felt that it was slightly expensive for 1night and also I felt that the hotel needed updating just with a few things like a fresh coat of paint would give it a new and fresh look.
My room was fine but I could not open the window to let some fresh air in as it was so hot, but it was fine but I probably not stay again
Poor service and Cleanliness
The hotel is over priced for the level of service and for the level of facilities available.
Rooms are not to a clean standard, dated in area and deteriorating. Poor level of air conditioning in rooms as the building is old and general level of maintenance in the rooms and bathrooms especially on the third and fourth levels. Breakfast is continental and is basic. If you arrive around 09.30 when breakfast is on till 10.00 options are very limited.
Down Market Hotel
Room was tacky. The hotel charged me twice for the room.I paid Late Room on AMX.When i arrived they said that they dident have a booking and charged me again.
When i checked with AMX they said that the money for the Hotel had been taken from my account twice.I think you should look into this as i think the hotel is Dodgy and pulling a fast one. Also the breakfast was poor.I complained to hotel manager about payment and they dont seem to respond wont be using them again.Very poor.
Perfect location, not quite as boutique as expected
Hotel is in a perfect spot on Knightsbridge, with the barracks to one side, McLaren show room to the other and Harrods behind.
Literally a 5 minute walk from the nearest tube station. Room was large, airy and quieter than expected given the location. Room was not the quality expected given the standard room price, although adequate for the price we paid. Lack of attention to small details spoilt it slightly such as skirting boards were scuffed, and sealant to bathroom was cracked, however as a standard double room it was very large, including a lounge area with sofa and TV. Despite those details, the room was clean. Staff were exceptionally helpful, and the entrance way was lovely, very smart. We were kept waiting slightly when checking in, and were given complimentary drinks whilst waiting. I would stay here again, and would recomend it to others, however, I would only do so on a Late Rooms deal.
Comfortable, excellent location, quick easy checkin, nice beds, decent sized rooms, cleanliness is good enough for the price of this hotel.
Was probably refurbished at a guess around beginning of the 2000's but this is reflected in the price of the hotel. Everything works fine and this hotel is excellent value for money and nice easy stay. Breakfast is simply continental but this is again fine for the excellent value of the room. I've never seen a bath run so quickly and so hot before. Nice towels. All good.
Knighmare from Hell
I was offered a room that had the wall smashed in.
The receptionist was helpful and moved rooms had paint peeling of the walls. The television then fell on me, the receptionist was more concerned about the television then injury to myself and did not report it in the accident book. The door chain was not properly attached and this made me feel very insecure. The pictures do not reflect the rooms. They took a charge of 30 pounds and refused to return it. I went to stay at another hotel on the first night and was offered a refund on discharge from the hotel this was also refused
the room was small and the beddings were faded.
Water was not provided other than Tap water
